Negative test and pregnant?

Has anyone ever had a negative HPT but actually been pregnant? I am 18dp5dt taken 5 tests (all negative) but got sore boobs, heightened sense of smell. I have had no bleeding at all - this is my first experience of all this so I don't know what I am looking for. We are doing IVF for PGD - so first real HPT too!

Are you still taking progesterone? That would explain the sore boobs and not bleeding. It's such a difficult process, a total rollercoaster. I hope you get some good news soon xxx

Hi, Thanks for responding. Yes still taking the progesterone. I had to test 11dp and then if negative test again today. I guess I have to stop the drugs and then work out next steps with my debrief meeting - as hard as that is to accept.

I'm sorry hon, I'm testing on Monday and it's still nerve wracking, even though we've been lucky enough to have success and have a little girl. Take your time to feel rubbish and angry, then onwards and upwards to next steps xxx

Thank you!! I guess everything I see I just see as a symptom boobs, no bleed, needing to wee (but I have a small bladder!) I worry if I stop the drugs I am taking away the support it needs to grow. Stupid really!

The progesterone you're taking has the same effects on your body as if you'd fallen pregnant and were producing it naturally, so it's a total headf**k trying to spot symptoms. It's such a tough process, but try to stay hopeful because it's often just a numbers game and being unsuccessful first time is more common than not, I think. Good luck xxx

Hi sj. You need to test on the day recommended by your clinic and keep up with any prescribed medication until told otherwise. If you are worried then they will hopefully double check with a blood test on the day. Good luck! Diane

Thank you - I followed the clinics guidelines exactly and didn't test early! They have left it to me knowing my body now! But I think I need to accept the facts! Thank you.
