First scan is tomorrow! Will be exactly 6 weeks

So my first scan is tomorrow, when I will be exactly six weeks pregnant, apparently.

I am very nervous!! I don't really know what to expect. I am scared of all the bad things that I have seen happen to people on here, all that heartbreak. I feel like it is even a bit early to be doing a viability scan at just six weeks???

Anyone have positive stories of a six-week scan??

A little early. You should see a gestacional sac, probably the fetus and maybe a heart beat, but little early for heartbeat. So don’t stress if there is no heartbeat and the ask you to repeat the exam in 1 week!

Everybody is anxious for that scan. Nothing you can do, so try to stay calm!

It’s early but you’ll be able to see something. I had a scan when I was around 5w5d (before I knew I was pregnant) and could see a gestational sac and a little blob (which was the yolk sac I think!)

It might be too early for the heartbeat so don’t worry too much

Yes definitely a bit early, strange that they’ve booked it so early! You’ll probably seen the gestational sac and maybe the yolk sac....don’t freak out if you can’t see a heartbeat yet, def early for that!Good luck xxx 🍀🍀🍀🍀

Good luck lovely! We had ours at 6+4 and that showed heartbeat, I had worked out the exact day that I felt we would get heartbeat based on hcg results. They wanted me in at 7w+ but I was too anxious!

I'm excited to see if you are carrying twins! You have the high HCG like me and I do keep reading this! I can't shake the feeling I have twins - my scan isn't for another two weeks (at 8 weeks)!

Hi! I would be very surprised if it was twins, since we transferred only a single frozen 5 day blastocyst, and I have had my fallopian tubes clipped. I guess it is possible, but would be very very rare!

It happened to my best friend only two years ago. She only had one embryo transferred and it split in to two girls. Apparently the odds are higher for that happening with cultured blasts that have been frozen and are in older ladies. Good luck today!

When I had my viability scan 4 years ago I was 6 weeks and 6 days and saw the heartbeat. They did warn me though that at that stage they might not be able to so hopefully they will reassure you if that is the case. Fingers crossed all is well for you. I will never forget seeing that tiny flicker on the screen for the first time. x

Good luck, how exciting! A heartbeat was detected at exactly 6 weeks for both of my pregnancies but like everyone says it might be too early. Go in with positive thoughts, you will see a sac at least and peace of mind that the baby is measuring as it should do xx
