I’m on the 2WW second cycle at the Chelsea and Westminster ACU (private), just wondering if anyone has had any success stories or anything concerning from this unit ?

Anyone receiving treatment at Chelsea and Westminster hospital?
Hi there,
I was at C&W for my my most recent round back in December. We did ICSI. And it worked, I’m 10 weeks pregnant! Had a 3 day transfer of 2 embryos
Overall it was a smooth experience, my only gripe was with the sonographers not being too friendly, and not doing much to calm the nerves! But apart from that I was happy with the process overall.
Wishing you lots of luck in your 2WW, I know what a rollercoaster that can be 🤞💫
Woohoo great to hear you’re pregnant! Congrats!! Yeah I’ve also found some of the sonographers a bit standoffish but not all of them. Is your consultant Mr Nikalou out of interest? I’ve also had a good experience with them so far xx
Thank you! It was an NHS round so i wasn't really assigned a particular consultant... but Mr Nikalou did do my egg collection and transfer. Gave me confidence that he has loads of experience and been in the biz a while I found the embryologists to be knowledgeable and kind, which always helps. How much longer to wait before your test day? Hopefully not much! x
Test is a Thursday and I’m a bit scared tbh. It’s weird coz I want the day to come but I also don’t lol! In all honesty I’m not holding out much hope as they transferred 3 embryos all of which were slow and had only 4 cells each xx
Hey there, I had my NHS round there, which was my first. I agree about the sonographers. I had a trainee do my consultations and egg collection and it didn’t go to plan at all, so as long as you have your consultant looking after you at all times, I think you should be ok xx
I had two and a half years of treatment with Dr Nikalou (7 embryos transferred in total). This ended in four bfn, two blighted ovum pregnancies and one chemical). I kept on being told it was just bad luck and issues with the embryos. We decided to move clinic to one in Spain and the first thing they suggested was a Hysteroscopy (never suggested by Dr Nikalou as he said I was getting pregnant so it was pointless). Turns out I had some issues with my uterus which they corrected and I have a 3 month old daughter from our first treatment in the new clinic. I guess I would say be a bit cautious, question if you don’t feel something is right and don’t be afraid to move clinic if you aren’t getting any success! To be fair the protocol they did at C&W was all correct and good but they just didn’t think outside the box and kept on doing the same thing over and over again.
That is great news! Would have saved me a lot of time and heartache if he had done that for me. Good luck!
