I am desperately looking for some reassurance. I am currently 5weeks pregnant after a FET. Since the day after my positive test I have been spotting but it’s been brown so the clinic said not to worry it’s likely to be the pessaries causing irritation. However it’s progressively getting more red and more volume. I’m going to phone the clinic again tomorrow but I’m just looking for anyone who’s had this and had a good outcome. I had a miscarriage in March and I’m terrified it’s happening again. It’s all I can think about I’m scared to even move because I can feel the discharge coming away then I’m terrified to look.

Can anyone please offer any reassurance :(
I had lots of spotting and clinic changed me from utrogestan pessaries to taking cyclogest rectally (literally a swap the next day, it was fine) as she said it is better for those who have recurrent miscarriage and doesn’t irritate the cervix. Are you on cyclogest? You should be able to swap straight away x
I’m so sorry you are stressed and worried, I have no experience with bleeding during pregnancy but can you ask your clinic to book you an ultrasound for next week? You will be 6 weeks and it can give you reassuring. Xx
I have a scan booked for the 18th I’m not sure if they will bring it forward any sooner but it’s worth asking. I’m so nervous about the scan too as because of the current covid restrictions my husband can’t come with me to the scan. Thanks for your reply. I will mention that to the clinic in the morning too. Xx
I'm so sorry you are going through this 😔 it's so hard staying positive when it happens. Hopefully it is just a small haematoma, when I was pregnant with my first I had cramps, clots etc until 20 weeks. I hope everything goes in your favour and totally thinking on you during this hard time. Hope you get some good news at first scan. Note they usually monitor your HCG levels to make sure the pregnancy is coming along nicely and there usually isn't anything they can do before 7 weeks as they usually cannot see the heartbeat before then.
Thank you. Fingers crossed your right. The first scan feels like a life time away.
When I was pregnant with my daughter I had a bleed at five weeks ..of course I was worried and went to the early pregnancy unit. Where I could see everything was absolutely fine. I was told to continue with cyclogyst which I did still week 28 xxx wishing you all the best xxx
I felt discharge for the duration of all 3 of my pregnancies and sent me into a panic each time! It’s normal!
Hi lovely, I had a similar experience to this a few days ago (you can see my post about it). I woke up to bright red blood like a period. Was really worried but my clinic were very reassuring and said bleeding during IVF pregnancies is quite common. I was on blood thinners so have come off these for 7 days. It’s stopped for me now. I think unless it’s extremely heavy with terrible cramps it shouldn’t be anything to worry about. Definitely call your clinic though to see what they advise xxx
I has the brown spotting start less than a week after my positive test. It also was progressively getting worse increasing in volume and getting pink. I was convinced I was miscarrying again. Anyway had to hold off until I could get a scan until was 6+ weeks. And everything was fine. I went home that day after the scan much relieved until the next day when I got a volume of fresh red blood come out, panicked again so got another scan arranged and again everything was fine. No explanation for the bleed other than likely caused by pessarie irritation. I'm now 22 weeks. The bleeding and spotting did eventually stop around 8 weeks or so. Spotting and bleeding isn't always mean something bad but for peace of mind I would get an early scan arranged for when you are in week 6.
I had a fairly large bright red bleed at 7 weeks. Currently 23 weeks. Try not to worry (easier said than done I know) it does happen. Keep in contact with the clinic as they deal with this a lot they know what to do. They will support you, don’t hesitate to call them. I’m sure all will be well ❤️❤️
Thank you that’s reassuring. I’m stressing out a bit now as I can’t get in touch with the clinic. Iv left them a message but I haven’t heard back yet and I’m now worried they are closed for the bank holiday.
Thank you everyone. I woke this morning feeling a bit happier. Didn’t have any bleeding at all then at 11am it hit again. I haven’t been able to get through to my clinic and I’m worried they are maybe closed for the bank holiday. I have left a message but still not heard anything yet. This is so stressful it so nice to hear that so many have you have had similar situations and it’s actually all be ok.
**EDIT**
Managed to speak to the clinic and they have booked me in for a scan/bloods tomorrow morning. Started bleeding more again and passing a few tiny clots. It’s so difficult to stay positive with all this right now 😢😢😢
Good luck , thinking of you xx
Thank you so much everyone. Just back from the hospital. They done a scan and they could see the sack and yolk! 🙌 Iv to go back for another scan next week and then another week after to monitor the progress. I feel like I should feel a lot more relieved than I do but I’m still so so anxious. They couldn’t explain the bleeding either. Roll on next Thursday now.
