I wonder if anyone might be able to offer some advice on choosing an IVF clinic with good success rates for people with severe endometriosis. I have stage 4 but recently got pregnant through IVF on the NHS with a frozen embryo transfer. Unfortunately that resulted in miscarriage so we’re looking again at options.
We currently have one frozen embryo in storage at our local hospital but in a conversation with my endometriosis consultant he suggested simply transferring that embryo straight away may not be the best plan. I’m 40 in April so time is against us somewhat. He suggested additional rounds of IVF to get a bigger stash of embryos to increase our chances.
We have an online consultation with our NHS fertility centre this week but I suspect we may not be funded for more rounds of IVF if we still have a frozen embryo in storage so we’re looking at private options. I’m also a bit worried about NHS treatment being halted halfway through a cycle because of COVID. I think that’s less likely to happen at a private clinic.
Does anyone have any recommendations for clinics who’ve dealt well with your endometriosis? We’re in east London.
Thanks very much.

Hi Victoria, I have deep infiltrative endo.It seems to me that IVF clinics don't really care about endo. It's just something that's there....
I have also had 2 early miscarriages ( one with a fresh cycle)
My last consultant from a top London private clinic keep on dismissing my endometriosis for some reason...
I'm currently 10weeks pregnant with a good quality frozen embryo and pgs
I was on the pill for 3 weeks and then on the spray to downregulate for 3 weeks before starting my FET cycle in October ( this was to quiet down my endometriosis)
I also decided to get the hydrocosy scan to double check that my falopian tubes were opened etc...
What's the quality of your embryo and has it been pgs tested? Was was the quality of the other embryo and how early did you miscarry?
My chemical pregnancy was with a top embryo but also after a fresh cycle and I believe frozen is best with endo.
Hi. Thanks for your reply and congrats on your pregnancy. I had two embryos transferred in a frozen embryo cycle in October after two months of GNRH analogues to downregulate my cycle and calm all my endometriosis down. We ha our IVF and egg collection in Jan/Feb last years and FET was supposed to be two months after that but it ended up being delayed because of Covid.
Both embryos were really good quality - an AA and an AB. Only one implanted but everything seemed to be going well (lovely high HCG reading) until six weeks when I had some pain and bleeding. Had an emergency scan and things didn’t look particularly out of the ordinary. Then went back for a viability scan at nine weeks and was diagnosed with missed miscarriage. Had to have and MVA to remove it and then misoprostol a few weeks later as there was still some tissue remaining. It’s all been a bit traumatic TBH.
Endometriosis (also deep infiltrating) seems to be under control at the moment thanks to multiple surgeries in the last couple of years and I keel kind of fine (🤞).
We’ve got one BB embryo left in storage. It hasn’t been genetically tested but I think that’s something we’ll look into if we do another cycle. Just a bit concerned that time is marching on now - we’ve been trying for four-and-a-half years and it’s taken over three years to get my endometriosis under control.
This is my second miscarriage so I’m a bit worried my endometriosis means I can’t sustain a pregnancy (although my constant says no).
If you’ve got any advice on fertility treatment and severe endometriosis it’d be great to hear it. Thanks again for your response and good luck with your pregnancy.
