Semovo

Are there any more that I should be researching into please?

Hi London.

My clinic recommended a few. I went with Cryos International - Denmark in the end as there was more detail than London sperm bank. You do pay more to get it shipped over but I wanted to know as much about my donor as possible so was worth it.

Good luck xx

Hey, I just wanted to see if there were any clinics that I may have missed as there do not seem to be very many in the UK to choose from. Thanks!

I think that’s all of them in the UK.

I tried semovo but they had this random process of offering you 1 donor, you could accept or decline them and then they would offer you someone else. I found it irritating and so moved to the London.

The London were fine, a bit difficult to get hold of sometimes but we got there in the end. My clinic told me that they don’t generally like dealing with the London because they are slow in processing things from the lab side.

I guess your only other option after these is to look abroad, European Sperm Bank etc.

Wishing you lots of luck x

Yes, that’s what I found with Semovo. I didn’t understand why they couldn’t send me the whole list to look at. They kept sending the wrong ethnicity too 😂 but I did like their detailed profiles.

Will give London a look. I haven’t gone out of the UK as I thought outside of the Uk they are allowed to give to more than 10 families, is this correct?

X

I know that you need to buy a pregnancy slot with the European sperm bank because the baby will be born in the UK under their rules. There website was fine but we didn’t find anyone that looked similar to my partner who is pale and dark haired.

Very strangely I quite liked that the London only gave limited donor information. I think we got caught up at first in finding the perfect donor and they didn’t exist, so we didn’t find the perfect one but we did find the right one.

It’s a very stressful process though xx

We also used London Sperm Bank. We were lucky that a donor that was just right for us became available when we wanted to order but when we had looked at other times, there were limited options that fulfilled our criteria. It is worth checking in regularly and when you find the one you want to order, do it right away as the 10 pregnancy slots seems to go quickly for some donors! In terms of dealing with the bank itself, we found the process very straightforward and communication was good. Friends of ours have used Cryos International and had a good experience there too.
