Anyone used an Embryoscope incubator?

Hi lovely ladies.

I have had another scan today and am pleased to say things are looking a lot more positive than they did on Wednesday 🙏🏻

I'm being checked again on Monday and hope to have my collection on Wednesday ☺️ We have paid extra to have our eggs fertilized using an Embryoscope Incubator. Has anyone else used this and had any/better success?

Hey 👋 we used the embryoscope on our first and only round - am now 14 weeks 3 days pregnant and one in the freezer. Whether it was that or not that made the difference I guess we’ll never know but we decided to after seeing that in the research group that I fell into (under 37, first ivf, at least 3 eggs fertilised) it had a 10% better success rate. We decided to use embryoscope incubator, but I don’t know if it improved anything 😇🤞So can’t really give any advice. We had read similar data that Beanybeanz mentioned from our clinic. But it is our very first IVF round and we are unexplained infertility, so we did not know how we would respond really, as we don’t know what the problem is.

We got 9 eggs, 8 fertilised, but only two made it till day 5. We were told they are great quality though, but I don’t know grades 🥰 we don’t know outcome yet either as I am currently 7dp5dt. They gave our other 6 embryos till day 6, to see in case they were just slow growers, but none kept developing and our clinic don’t freeze morulas.

Don’t think this helps you at all - but just thought I could let you know “our stats”. Maybe try google scholar search for some articles and research 😇🥰 Wishing you all the best!

Hello, glad things are looking positive for you. I used embryoscope this time around (which was my second fresh cycle) and had much better results. First time around I had 12 eggs (all mature), only 3 fertilised and I had 1 good enough to transfer. Nothing to freeze. Second time around I used ICSI and embryoscope and they retrieved 14 eggs (13 mature), 8 fertilised and we ended up with 1 high quality to transfer and 3 good quality to freeze which was a massive improvement for us! I hope you also have good success and a happy ending xx

Hey Chicky, yes we used this this time around (didn’t have the option on our first NHS round) I don’t know if it was just luck but our cycle was so much better. I liked the fact that they were left undisturbed. We decided not to PGS test in the end so the embryologist will use data from this (checking they met key markers at certain points) along with grades to decide which embryos to transfer. It was about £300 ish more and I’m pleased we did it so far. Best of luck! xxx

We used it for all 5 rounds. It really came into its own when we did blastocyst banking for the last 3 cycles which was part of a package. We were transferring 2 and had 4 blastocysts- they reviewed all the time lapse footage and chose the 2 which looked most compatible with each other which was actually different to what they would have chosen based on grading alone. Both stuck and I’m having twins.

Ladies what is an embryoscope incubator?

It’s basically a machine/incubator which the embryos stay in as they are fertilised and most have a time lapse camera which captures their development over the 5 days

It also means the embryos don’t have to be taken out of the fridge every time the embryologist wants to view them and so avoids changes in temperature which can affect development

That being said i know lots of people who didn’t use the embryoscope and still had a successful pregnancy

My clinic offered embryoscope included in the price, they said they want to give the best options to everyone, and that they have the machine already, so why not using it?First cycle, I had a double day 2 transfer (BFN) and a single FET, which was a successful pregnancy.

In the two previous cycles I had, which were funded by the NHS, I think the embryoscope was also used, but in the first case at some point it broke (they didn't say a thing, I only found out when going through all the paperwork to give to my new private clinic), and in the second I only had one embryo, which w transferred on day 2,and it stuck... In the wrong place.
