Really light period after IVF failure?

Hi all. Just finished with our first round of IVF today, negative pregnancy test this morning and then my period started afterwards. I’m 18 days post egg retrieval and 16 post ET. I was expecting this period to be horrendous but it’s so light I could barely get a tampon in just now for being dry (sorry for TMI!). Normally I’m really heavy for a couple of days with bad period pain (I have endometriosis) but I’ve got no cramps either. It’s odd and I’m worrying that it should be coming out but isn’t, my lining was apparently quite thick before ET. Anyone else has this?

Hey, I had the same thing happen to me after my first failed transfer - I also have endo. My period was really light for 3 days and I also couldn’t use a tampax as it hurt! 😣 I did have really really bad stomach ache though for about a week even though I wasn’t bleeding. My period after that was like it usually is. Hope this helps💜

Hi Emma. This can happen as you have had your cycle manipulated. This is why we like you to have a cycle that is normal to you before proceeding with further treatment or transfer. Diane

Hi Tina - I spoke too soon on that occasion, it was so light all that day and night but the next day it came with a vengeance ☹️ My cycle length afterwards hasn’t been affected like some peoples though, it went back to normal straight away x
