Viability scan - when did your clinics do yours?

Hi ladies!

My clinic have called this morning and are happy with my HCG levels so have booked me in for a viability scan. By my calculations (I’ve used the Flo app) I would be 6 weeks today (transfer done on 13th October 5 day transfer) .

The weird thing is they have booked me in for a viability scan on 1st December which would make me nearly 10 weeks.

When did your clinics book you in for a viability scan I always thought it was 7 weeks?

Worried that if it is 10 weeks will I have to wait for a midwife and my official 12 week scan (probably worried about nothing still a long way to get to that point!) xx

Mine was done at 8 weeks. You wouldn’t necessarily have to wait longer for your 12 week one as really you can register with a midwife now if you wanted. It can just be better to wait until the first scan. I would give them a quick ring and ask them x

Mine was 2 weeks after OTD so around 6 weeks but I moved it to 7 weeks as I was having an NHS ectopic risk scan at 6 weeks

Most clinics don’t do earlier than 7 weeks as outcome Not always clear at that point

Mine is at 7 and a half weeks. 10 weeks seems a long wait, not sure my nerves could handle it. Could just be that they're fully booked? I had to book mine in when I got my positive result, even though I didn't want to tempt fate by thinking that far ahead, but they said the waiting list was long, so that could be the reason?

I booked mine for 7 wks, didn't want one earlier in case they wouldn't see details. I had to book mine myself (£70) as I had treatment abroad. Perhaps they don't have anything sooner?! Its an awful long wait.xx

This is good news! Mine was at 6wks6. I think call your clinic and see if you can have one slightly earlier, after all the worry you’ve had it will be nice to have that reassurance sooner rather than later for your own mind 💞

If not maybe pay for a private one? Xxx

I started doing weekly scans from 6 weeks onwards. So at 6 weeks they only saw gestational sac and yolk sac and at 7 weeks there was a heartbeat. I’d say that try and book it for 7 weeks, 10 seems like a long way to go!

As soon as I got my positive HPT I informed the midwifes in my local area so that they do your booking in appointment at 8 weeks for blood test and book the scan in around 12 weeks. I had my scan at 7 weeks +4. I would call you clinic, they might have booked it in incorrectly by accident xx

Mine NHS viability one was 7weeks3days. I actually chose to have a private one (luckily cheap near me - 36£!) at exactly 7 weeks so that my other half could come in with me. Worth the money the put my mind at ease.

I’m ten weeks tomorrow - would’ve been a very long wait to see it for the first time for me but maybe I’m just a nervous character!

Xx
