Only have 1 follicle at 1.5, 2 at 1.1 and four tiny ones. What are your thoughts should I proceed with egg retrieval possibly Friday or Monday? Or cancel if only 1 follicle is at size? Anyone get follicles to grow enough ? I am on long protocol have been on stims for 16 days.
Proceed with egg collection or cancel? - Fertility Network UK
Proceed with egg collection or cancel?
If you hadn’t been stimming for 16 days I would have said go for the egg collection but in my mind that’s too long to be on medication and just isn’t likely to yield a good quality egg - they just aren’t designed to “cook” for that long?
I’d cancel and look at changing to a more natural IVF - if you are only going to get one egg anyway then go with natural/natural modified IVF which targets one good quality egg Without forcing loads of drugs on your body
1.5 or 15mm? Normally, clinics do not even measure when the follicles are 1.5mm
I read it as Cm - 15mm one and 2 at 11mm
I would proceed to egg collection. It’s almost ready. You can get 1 mature egg from the 15mm one and possibly from the others with a few more days of stimulation
If you wait for the perfect cycle, you might lose precious time and that perfect cycle might never come. I personally go ahead with one egg only.
Just an update ladies my 15mm egg grew to 23mm in 2 days, the other two are 12mm and 13mm so am probably going to try for egg collection on Friday. I am doing double trigger tonight. Wish me luck!!
Incredible it grew so much in just 2 days! What meds dosage are you taking?
I am 43 so the kitchen sink! 450gonal f, 75mg luveris, testosterone cream, melatonin, coq10, and supplements: fish oil, prenatal, vitamin e and d that's it.

Yay! Go follicles! Hopefully the other two will catch up by Friday. Great news you will be doing double trigger. Are you doing IVF or ICSI? Xx
I am doing IVF, I haven't ever had a follie that size before last round only 16mm -17mm, my clinic only does 5 day transfers so hopefully it all goes well.
Was IVF successful last time round for you? With me my eggs had thickened zona pellucida preventing sperm penetrating so we did ICSI on next cycles to increase chance of fertilisation even though my husbands sperm was fine. It’s a real shame your clinic doesn’t do day 3 transfer. Probably doesn’t matter too much if you have had success getting to day 5 before. Best of luck for Friday Xx
No, no success last round I had 5 follicles retrieved 3 eggs, 2 fertilized but 1 stalled day 3 and the other day 4. Have never been pregnant. Fingers crossed this time 🙂
For older woman is better to trigger when follicles are 16-18 because they have premature luteinization. You should go for whatever you have, it’s unlikely another cycle will be much better. Better to do ICSI. Also, to transfer fresh day 3 embryos when you have 2 or less high quality day 3 embryos. Good luck!
Premature luteinization refers to a rise in progesterone, not LH, is that right?
luteinization is a process that occurs in the granulosa of the follicle
So it has nothing to do with LH hormone?
its a process in the follicle stimulated by LH, but is not a problem related to hormone itself but how the follicle reacts to it
Hello ladies, so did egg collection but no eggs. I am out this round but I have hope maybe in the new year! I am sad but I know now is not my time surely next one I hope I wish you all well on your journey and will check in, goodluck!
Oh no I am so sorry to read this, I was so hoping you would get at least a couple. Take time to chill and I am sure next round will be completely different - it really can be xx
Thanks Daisy1245 yes really unfortunate, this IVF rollercoaster is tough!, it may sound crazy but I just know one day I will be a mum in whatever form it comes, so am positive, I have hope! Thanks again!
I am very sorry to read this Pittapatta. Have you asked your clinic if they flushed the follicles? My understanding is that there are always eggs (otherwise your osterogen would not rise) but sometimes, the eggs do not come out easily/do not come out at all. For next time, you could ask the doctor to flush several times to get the egg out. Lots of hugs and I hope you get pregnant as a Christmas gift before your new round xx
Hi Lilly12255 thanks for your kind words. I didn't know that they are always eggs I will follow that up with them. My next cycle will be after Christmas as the hospital shuts in December for theatre upgrades. But I am so hopefull. Thanks again. Baby dust to you!!!
Sorry to hear, good luck next time!
this systematic reviews says there is no advantage in flushing...

this one shows is better to trigger earlier
