Day 1 bleed... At 9:30 pm

Prob really stupid question but am starting my ivf treatment this month and have to take 1st tablets on day one and organise scan for day 11...frozen donor egg & donor sperm being used.

My period was expected tomorrow but has started at 9:30pm tonight... Do I count today as day one?

It's proper bleed not just spotting.

Had provisionally booked scan but hospital could only take me 8am on day 12... clinic was OK with that but now if today is day 1 then scan will be day 13.... I won't get an answer from prague clinic over weekend.

My 1st day med is high dose folic acid and day 2 am to start fematab/estradiol.... So I don't wanna mess up from start.... 1st time I have taken meds as treatment been cancelled on me in march

Same happened to me, my period came a day early so had to start meds a day early. It's difficult to know what to do for the best.

Personally I would treat today as day 1.xx

Tomorrow is day 1! It’s only day 1 if your period arrives before 2pm or 4pm is most clinics rules x

But can you call them maybe on the emergency number that you should have been given? X

No, tomorrow is day 1 if you start in the evening. My clinic used to say if you start full flow before 12 midday then that's day 1, if later then next day is day 1. Good luck.xx

I was told it’s only day one if it’s before 12 midday so I would defo not count today as day one - it’s tomorrow! Good luck! x

Day one is definitely tomorrow. And I know that most clinics in Prague count the first day of period only if it starts before 3pm. So excited for you! All the luck in the world xx

Thank you girls!! Feels like a long time coming.... But so glad to finally get started again.

Seemingly there are no longer direct flights between Dublin and Prague and can't fly direct from Belfast.. So its adding a little extra stress thinking of spending time in an extra airport for stop over at the min but I guess its just one of those things.

I now have to travel alone too as I can't have anyone risk there own health or take 2wks off work to self isolate when get back so it will b a long lonely journey but we just gotta hope worth it in end

Ah, so sorry to hear that about the flights & having to travel alone. We had some tough flights previously & used the crosswords in the Guardian newspaper app to kill 3-4 hours at a time! Sometimes it’s the little things that get you through.

Hi, I would think if you wait until the morning, you're technically still in the first day/24hr period if they makes sense and you keep your dates on track . Im no expert though. Best of luck xx
