Not sure what this all means, I had a scan yesterday and it showed only a small possible gestational sac in my uterus and hcg levels were 2847. She couldn’t see anything at all that looked ectopic. If I go off my last period I should be 5w5d but I definitely ovulated early like day 8 or 9 of my cycle so more likely I should be classed as 6w4 or 6w5. Not sure what the point of my post is, maybe I just need to see it all written down and hope for a crazy success story?
Consultant just called to say I need to be seen on Monday at the EPU since my hcg is still rising, as I need to be monitored for possible ectopic. She isn’t hopeful that it’s a viable pregnancy. I’ve been monitored for this before and it’s never been ectopic - I just seem to have slowly developing embryos that always fail.
Hcg results so far:
12th: 478
14th: 640
16th: 1250
21st: 2847 (yesterday).
That last result means it’s taken 5 whole days to just over double - 4.2 days doubling time.

Hi lovely, I'm sorry to hear about your difficult situation. I don't really have any advice but I just wanted to send some love. I know it must be a very worrying time for you. There is still a chance that it is a viable pregnancy, weirder things have happened but I understand the need to protect yourself. For me it's always the hardest part of this - the balance between hope and protection. Wishing you lots of luck for a positive outcome xxx
Awww Im so sorry to see your update Orla! Limbo land is never a nice place to be, you must be going out of your head. Thinking of you!!xxx
So sorry to hear about this limbo must be such a head scramble.
If its any consolation the day of ovulation doesnt really come into play I dont think.. so you should go by your period rather than anything else... so I really hope you are still in the game lovely. Crossing my fingers for you! xx
Ohh no!! Orla, i was only thinking how your getting on yesterday, bless you darling. Im so sorry your going through this, such a head scramble!! Really hope things turn around and this turns out to be your miracle my love. Sending hugs 😘💗
I really hope all works out for you. I have everything crossed, hoping that you get the outcome you have been wanting for so long. This journey we all go on is no easy ride. It tests our relationships, our strength to carry on after failure multiple times and most of all sometimes the belief that It can and will happen. Just try and remain positive.
Orla, sorry you are going through a worrying time. Monday must seem like a long time away. Look after yourself &I’ll keep everything crossed for you my lovely. Will be keeping you in my thoughts. Always remember we are here for you whenever you need us. Big hugs Xx
Sending many prayers to you love. No advice but just wanted to say that we cant really know when we ovulate. Some babies take double as long to implant (6 to 12 days?). So hopefully its a late implanter. So hopefully you will be further along on the next scan. Dont lose hope ☘️🙏
Hi Orla, Hope everything worked out fine for you. I m in similar boat and was looking for some advise based on your first hand experience. Feeling so worried
I’m sorry, but mine was not a happy story, the “sac” in my uterus was a teeny cyst, and there was actually a pregnancy with our first heartbeat in my tube - I was rescanned 5 days later by the hospital and was admitted on the spot for emergency surgery. It was a tough time. However, ultimately they said the Hcg rises were in fact normal, only 1 reading was low.
I hope that yours turns out to be ok, what have your readings been like?x
For the last week, we were advised ectopic by one doctor and normal pregnancy by other two doctors. My readings were doubling nicely every 2 days till 1800 but after that it took 7 days to double to 3600. That’s where my worry is. NHS says they can see gestation sac n yolk sac in the uterus but needs to confirm whether pregnancy is growing nicely in the uterus. I m worried as the HCG doesn’t seem to be rising as fast as it should.
