IVF at Guy’s hospital
Hello, no I haven’t but I have heard loads of positive things. Good luck xx
Yes. We had our first cycle at Guys in 2018. NHS funded. Unexplained infertility. It worked first time to our amazement! Our little one is now 22 months.
It’s very nurse led apart from first consultantation. All scans done by nurses. It’s pretty busy there. Often running behind for appointments! But we were happy with it all x
Hi JenRoy did you remember what protocol you had.I'm going to start my first cycle end of this month.
We had our egg collection in 2018 due to some reason couldn't get a chance to put back. This is my clinic as well.
Long protocol. It went very smoothly. We’ve done 2 rounds this year, private clinic not Guys and been on short protocol. Not gone very well. Hoping for maybe long protocol next time
Hello, i am currently under guys and st thomas. I am a private paying patient even though i am allowed to have funding. My husband and i didn’t want to wait as they told us it could be 18 months wait.
I have just completed the long protocol ICIS and had a 5day transfer. Unfortunately it ended in a BFN last week.
I have 4 frosties and hoping to do a FET next month.
Thank you for that... I am sorry and hopefully the next transfer will work 🤞🤞the consultant who referred me told me it takes 3 month ms and nearly 3 and still waiting for the initial appointment .. i may go private but not sure which clinic. I need one to be flexible with appointments too so i can work when i need to do the scans
The one thing about going private with Guys and St Thomas is that the appointments are tailored around your availability. So you can have later appointments from 6 till 8. You also have the choice to have appointments on the weekend or early morning appointments from 8 am.
Thats very good.. i know few have done ivf at concept fertility clinic and they are recommended it ,If you do once private and doesn’t work and in the meantime you are contacted by nhs can you still do it?or once u go private cant do nhs after?
No going private didn’t put me at any risk of coming off of the NHS waiting list. I am still on the waiting list and paying private.
I’m a guys NHS PGD patient and everything has taken ages. I’m sorry to say it was 5/6 months between referral and first appointment (11 from first GP appointment) COVID slowed everything further as it was shut down and they’re now limiting the number of people for social distancing.
Hello, I’ve just done my second cycle with Guys (currently in the dreaded 2ww). Haven’t got a bad word to say about them, I’ve had a very positive experience so far. I am also a private paying patient. Admittedly, they are very slow on the admin side of things, but apart from that I have no bad words to say. Good luck! xx
Good luck 🤞🤞 which dr doest the ivf over there?
The doctor I have is Dr White xx
Thanks
