so went in for my first tracking scan today. At baseline they said i had 14 follicles, today at CD9 she said there were 7 😔 im assuming she means 7 that have responded, not that 7 have dissappeared! Well my gonal f was due to finish on sunday, but they want me to continue on the Gonal F 300units and be rescanned monday! My question is has anyone else been in a similar position and how likely is it that my follicles will have grown enough? She said the 7 are growing but are a bit slow. 1 follicle is the right size 🤦♀️

Try not to worry too much hun, not all follicles will respond and some will take longer to catch up. You've only been stimming for 6 days right? It's totally normal to have smaller ones at this stage, some ladies stim for over 13 days to get the maximum number the right size. It doesn't mean it's going wrong, so try not to think that. Wishing you the best of luck for Monday 🤞 xxx
Thank you! Yea been on stims since cd2, so frustrating as we are private so ordering medication 'just incase' is very expensive! If i add the meds i originally had plus the meds i have had to order that would give us 12days of stims which sounds ok but only been given 7days of Fyremadel so hope i wont have to reorder that aswell 🤦♀️ £65 delivery each time on top of medication costs xx
Totally understand, it's all so expensive it just adds to the stress! We're private too, I wouldn't even want to think about how much it has cost when you add everything up! Hoping it will all be worth it in the end though!! 🤞 Hopefully you'll get a clear plan on Monday as well so you can put your mind at ease xx
Hey lovely. Please try not to worry yet. Alot can change in a few days as you will find others saying here. I had one dominant follicle and 18 small ones. Nurse said its a shame to just collect one so same happend doubled my dose (300) units over the weekend and i ended up collecting 9 with 8 mature. 6 fertilised and 2 blasts (unfortunately didnt work but thats just luck). So dont worry 😘😘
I was in a similar position - 22 at baseline and only 10 on first scan, I felt really down to begin with but ended up with 6 eggs, all fertilised and now have 3 in the freezer and 1 hopefully implanting (halfway through the 2WW!) Wishing you all the best for your cycle xxx
Hi, this was exactly the same with us. First tracking appt (mon) I had 10 follicles but I wasn’t responding as much as planned - they doubled the gonal f and rebooked me for another tracking scan (wed) and told me that EC may not be on the Friday as scheduled but rather the Monday. Had scan wed, had responded better and the nurse literally said “we’ll give it a go” and to take all the gonal f I had left (again we’re private so had bought another pen) straight away and the trigger shot that evening.
Fast forward they collected six eggs, but one was immature. Of the five, four fertilised but only two made it to day 3 and they recommended to transfer both then.
We’re so incredibly sad it didn’t work for us and because it’s such a numbers game just wish we’d been firmer, asked more questions - challenged whether it would have been better to wait until the Monday. We have none in the freezer, so there’s the financial stress of knowing we’ll need another cycle and just keep wondering if we’d waited to the Monday would there have been more eggs? It was our first time and you learn a lot as you go through, but as I say just really wish I’d picked them up with the “give it a go” phrase as it struck me at the time as not being confidence filling 🙁
Wishing you the best of luck with your treatment darling and everyone on here because honestly this is the hardest thing we’ve ever done xxx
I only had 2 responding follicles only collected 2 eggs with only 1 embryo viable for transfer ......
and am 11 weeks pregnant.
I felt devastated at time as these were the lowest figures ever had but at 44 well I guess it was to be expected. My clinic kept assuring me sometimes smaller numbers mean more quality.
I was exactly the same, had my day 9 scan yesterday! So at my first scan I had 17 follicles and yesterday I had 14, I asked why they had reduced and she said they hadn’t disappeared just that the bigger ones were over shadowing them, none of mine were the right size yet (biggest was 15)
I’m also going back on Monday and had gonal F and Cetrotide extended until then, she wasn’t concerned though and said it’s only day 9 and the main reason they scan on day 9 is incase you have developed quicker and then at risk of OSHH, she said only 50% of women are ready at day 9 scan.
I was really disappointed yesterday, but now I think the longer to cook away the better ❤️
Thanks everyone i really appreciate your advice and kind words! Such a worrying time, think its worse as we have no control over it all 🤦♀️ and im a bit of a control freak! They havent increased my dose as i was originally on 300units anyway, they have just said to continue taking until mondays scan 🤞 stress isnt going to do my body any good so i will just try and chill this weekend.
Che138 im so sorry that it hasnt worked out for you this time but hopefully if you are looking to try again the consultant would have learnt from your 1st cycle. 🤞🤞
Hope76 congratulations 🥰 did you freeze the other one?
Hey lovely. Please try not to stress much, I believe it would so much improve by Monday. We would have our miracle babies🤞🤞. I have been very busy yesterday, couldn't reply you sooner. I went on a scan today, and I have been given another two dose of Gonal f (between 150 and 225 units) and two packs of cetrotide for Saturday and Sunday, plus one new injection for the Sunday night (gonapeptyl) likely for ovulation. Will be going on Sunday morning for a blood test, Monday is a free day (zero injection) and Tuesday would be a collection day. Let's stay updated mate🤗😙
