At what week should you see a midwife. I am 7weeks 4 days and GP apparently has sent my details to the midwife a week ago but I've still not heard anything.

Hey I saw mine at 8 weeks. I had a letter from the hospital with the date and also a date for my 12 week scan.

Hopefully you hear but if not maybe call the hospital Monday? Xx

Thanks. I called my GP to say I've not heard anything and they gave me the midwifes number. I've have tried calling and sent a message. Maybe it's too early. I think I will try again on Monday if not heard anything.x

I think the appointment can be between 8-10 weeks so try not to worry. It’s just to go through your medical history, have bloods taken, blood pressure and urine test so won’t be a problem if it’s not quite at 8 weeks xx

I've just had mine today and I contacted mine just over a week ago. Everything seems to be over the telephone just now too. Hopefully won't be too long.xx

I’m 8+2 and contacted surgery to say I was pregnant at 6. Called them back at 7 to say it was twins still nothing. Finally on Wednesday (exactly 8 weeks) I called the midwife direct and she said there was a huge backlog and they were calling between 8-10 weeks. I told her I was concerned that that would be a bit tight to get a 12 week scan date (anxious here, hello?!) and she said it would be ok. I’ve never been impressed with my GP surgery tbh & this isn’t helping

Hi. Did your fertility clinic refer you to the local maternity service or did you contact your GP? I am 6 weeks today and it sure what I am meant to do! Thanks. X

They discharged me and gave me a form to take to GP. With the current situation though I rang my GP and they sent my details onto the local midwife. Just waiting for someone to contact me.

I had a real nightmare, first I had to fill in an online form which didn’t work. Then it took ages to get hold of a midwife. I have finally got my appointment for 11weeks. X

Leave it another week then ring. They are usually quick with it . But I’d say covid is messing with time scales. Hope you hear soon 💐😘

Hi JoanneH82, congratulations on your pregnancy. I am 8 weeks 1 day today, called my midwife last week and have a virtual appointment booked for next Wednesday. I'd only add to the above posts by saying that midwife was keen to book me in before 9 weeks as there are screening tests for down syndrome etc that need to take place around 10 weeks or you miss the opportunity, so I'd chase them up and get yourself booked in. Best of luck 😀 x
