Day 6 of stims and still heavy AF

Hi ladies,

Has anyone had this before...

After my first failed round of IVF I was prescribed Provera to bring on my next AF which I started taking on day 46 of my last cycle.

AF arrived on Thursday last week, I had a few moderate days followed by a few very light days, and then very heavy flow. It’s lightened up a bit now, but it is still bright red, quite a lot when I wipe and quite “clotty”. (Sorry for TMI!)

I’m currently on day 6 of stims, and I have another scan on Friday so will discuss it with the nurses then, but has anyone had similar previously?

I’ve searched historical posts and google but keep coming up with nothing.

I’m worried my lining will be too thin if this continues, and if I’m lucky enough to get any eggs this round I’m pretty sure they won’t be suitable for freezing.

Thanks xx

Hi hun, I wouldn't worry too much! I've had the same thing, I always have heavy and long periods, but it's never meant a thin lining for me. Hopefully everything will be good at your next scan 🤞 xx

I’m on my 1st round - 3 days ahead of you and had exactly the same thing with a long heavy cycle that only finished on day 7 which is unusual for me. Was really worried but had my first tracking scan today and lining is thick. Will keep fingers crossed that it’s the same for you! xx

I had the same thing. I took progynova which was supposed to bring on a bleed before I started stimming. It didn’t and I got a heavy / normal period during stims which felt quite odd but I was told it was fine. I ended up having a freeze all due to OHSS but my lining was really good, 10mm+ (way better than I’ve had with FETs!) You’ll be fine xxx

*Update*

I’m 99% sure they’re going to cancel my cycle tomorrow.

I called the nurses a little while ago and they didn’t offer much hope for the cycle being okay.

I’m on Gonal-F which I think is FSH only. Could adding in a FSH + LH help stop the bleeding?
