Hello All.

So approximately nine years ago I fell pregnant twice and had two miscarriages. We then went onto IVF treatment. First cycle was abandoned due to my body not responding, second treatment worked with a flash cycle and now have a adorable nearly four year old boy..

I am 41 now and we would love a brother or sister for him to grow up with.

So we started trying again approximately two years ago to see if we had any luck naturally = Not successful.

Made an appointment with our IVF clinic. Turns out my amh is extremely low ( 0.9,) get told its highly unlikely Ill fall pregnant through IVF. So we pushed for a cycle and yes there was only two follicles, which they advised us to abandon the cycle as its highly unlikely to have no eggs inside.. We pushed them to go ahead, as you never no hey. Went to egg collection, could only retrieve one which was empty and the other was too awkward for them to collect. Went home devastated.

After getting it together we wanted to try one more time but they basically said go on a holiday.. Please don't get me wrong they were all really really lovely staff...but in my head it only takes one....

We thought we would get a second opinion and they said the same. It was suggested that we could try Natural IVF or Egg donation.

So anyway we thought we would try the Natural Ivf cycle.

Just whilst thinking about going ahead with a Natural IVF cycle, low and behold I fall pregnant naturally which sadly ends in a miscarriage, so at this point we are thinking lets see if I fall pregnant again naturally, but the question is why do I loss my natural pregnancies but my IVF pregnancy stuck.?

I have some crazy thoughts that its to do with the progesterone that I took after the egg was put back... Am I crazy in thinking this is possible?

Anyway six months on I fall pregnant again. So was straight to the doctors to see if I could take progesterone which was agreed so I took them. I sadly miscarried this one too and yes people probably think ,ah the progesterone never worked then, my argument is that I didn't start it until about fourteen days after my period so that may have been two weeks late .... I'm probably thinking and talking nonsense but something is telling me that IVF is the way forward and that the medication gears my body up for a pregnancy... Even my husband doesn't agree with me. Please help I'm going crazy LOL xx

Has anyone fell pregnant with IVF with an extremely low AMH and over 40 years old... I think I already know the answer but would just like to check..

Thank you for reading my post and please don't get me wrong we are so lucky in having our little boy so I hope I don't upset anyone with this.

xx

I can’t really answer on the IVF front as I really don’t know ( hopefully others will) but very sorry to hear of your losses how awful. Have you considered being referred to a miscarriage clinic ( I assume referrals are still going ahead?) I know they often say “bad luck” for miscarriages but would be worth ruling things out such as lupus. Has a GP or clinic done a progesterone test when you have naturally conceived? I know some ladies require higher levels progesterone- sometimes injections. I had prednisone in early pregnancy as I have raised nk cells. Don’t know if you could try that? Or low dose aspirin to encourage blood flow in the uterus & prevent blood from clotting. I can understand the need to complete your family I was the same after having Francesca. I hope you are able to complete your family & I wish you the best xxx

Hi. I am 42 and current 8dp5dt after 1st cycle of IVF.

I had 3 miscarriages through natural conception within 10 months before being referred for IVF.

I had numerous bloods tests to check if any problems and they couldn’t find anything wrong, other than my age!

My clinic have me on blood thinners and progesterone and we have chosen to also take a baby aspirin a day despite our clinic telling us that this wasn’t part of their protocol! We want to say that we have tried everything as not sure if we would do another cycle if this fails.

Is it very frustrating when no one can explain why the embryo just won’t stick.

Check if any of the doctors at your clinic specialise in recurrent miscarriages and ask to speak to them!

Please DM me if I want any more info. X

Hello,

Thank you for your reply.

Its heartbreaking isn't it and I'm so sorry you have been through losses.. I hope this round goes well for you..

We have recently been signed of from our miscarriage specialist, who said nothing wrong has been found and to ring epu if I fall pregnant again for early scans.

Hope you are okay and I have everything crossed for you.

Many thanks x
