Injection instructions from nurse say no need to wipe with alchol wipes prior to injections?

Hi has anyone been instructed not to use alchol wipes before injections- im finding that a bit strange as the video instructions links show alchol wipes - then again these videos seem old - any thoughts?

I didnt use alcohol wipes with my 2 stim cycles, just made sure I washed my hands beforehand xx

I guess the reason is there isn't much risk since we live in such clean conditions nowadays. Although for me all medical staff I have encountered use alcohol swaps before injections and recommend it (I use them). My pharmacy packs them for free in the same bag with my needles. If you would feel more comfortable then it's fine to use them, just make sure the alcohol completely dries first xx

I've always used them prior and after. I remember in one of my cycles with the cyclogest it came with some wipes each injection did for before and after. I just got used to it so carried on. Either way is fine good luck xx

I didn’t wipe before anything although some of mine contained wipes and the videos did. I don’t wipe the site before I give my patients injections at work because we have always been taught not to so don’t worry about it ☺️

If they gave me them then I used them but if not then wasnt bothered. I'm a nurse and do sub cut injections all the time and it's not common practice to use swabs. Only for things like bloods or IM injections xx

I didn’t use alcohol wipes for any of my rounds & neither of our clinics suggested we should. Im an ex nurse and didn’t used to use them then for SC injections either. If you feel more comfortable use them, if not, don’t! Totally your call xx

When I was on long protocol I was given wipes for buserlin but not for stims.. now I am on short protocol I dont use wipes

I think its when you have one vial which is used multiple times you use them, but not when you only use the vial once if you see what I mean? x

Some wipes come with my Cetrotide so I used them for those injections, but none come with Gonal-F, so I didn't for that.
