IVF ROUND 2 DUO STIMS..

hey all i hope you are all well. I recently went to my fertility clinic and they are reccomending duo stims . I dont know if anyone is familiar with that. Backround. I have low Amh im 32 yeard old. Last ovum pickup we got two matured eggs which fertilised and did 3 day fresh embryo... That failed as i got my period. So they are saying the issue is with my low numbrt eggs. Thry want to get atleast 8 eggs. Has anyone done this. Any advice esp from low ahm lafies given a second round

After all it takes only one to click! The expectation they have is based on an average number of eggs that people can come up with. Everyone’s different! Don’t put much thought into the outcome. Just take each day as it comes. Give your 💯. All the best!

Sorry about your last round hun. Just to give you some hope....I'm 34 (healthy) but have endo and hashimoto's thyroiditis (both make TTC difficult).

AMH was 9.7 when I was 33 at time if treatment. Was given high dose menopur (350) on short protocol. Only got 4 eggs, only 1 fertilised normally, got a grade 5AB 5 day hatching blasto and currently 31 weeks pregnant.

Its quality over quantity (good news with your age) and you just need that one.

Really sorry to hear your first round wasn't successful.

I think they often use a standard protocol for the first round to see how you react so hopefully the suggestions for round too will be better. What did you take for round one? Also how many follicles did they see at the scans before you started any ivf drugs? If there were more than 3 I suspect they'll want to see if a double dose will get the others stimulated.

I had 6 follicles on early scans so know that's the max I can get. I had 2 embryos for my first round but only one fertilised. We waited to 5 days so know it made it to Blastocyst and wasn't successful after transfer. I had my review today and they are sticking with the same protocol but giving me a double dose of the trigger to see if can get 3/4 eggs this next time. Still low chances but as they say it only takes one!

I think if they believe they can get more eggs with increased stimulation its worth a try to double those chances.

By duo stims, do you mean mixing two different stimulation drugs? I’ve also got a low AMH and was 34 when I did my fourth round where I did a mix of stims (Menopur and Bemfola) and my egg numbers were the same as I’d got on previous rounds but quality was better but I also switched to short protocol as well so not sure if one or both things helped but my cycle was successful!x
