Hi there! Does anyone know how it works at NHS clinics at Xmas/NY? I am starting my first IVF cycle in November and if my timeline provided by the clinic is correct it looks as though i'll be doing egg collection/transfer smack bang in middle of Xmas/New Year period! I did ask them but they told me i had to wait until my pre-treatment appointment in 2 weeks

Short cycle IVF in November lasts 10 weeks. What happens at Xmas/New Year??
Hello. I had a similar situation last year. I was due to start my IVF in November (long protocol) with an NHS clinic in Scotland. I got a pack through the post saying that I was due to start with my November period and that I should call them to let them know when it had started. I had worked out the dates and figured that my egg collection and transfer would be right in the middle of Christmas/New Year. When November arrived I called them to start the cycle and they told me I had to call back the following month as they weren’t doing collections and transfers over Christmas due to lack of staff. I don’t know if it’s the same everywhere but better to be prepared in case of a slight delay. Wishing you all the best x
NHS have a cut off sometime in December when no egg collection is performed. I remember on my 2nd cycle I had my egg collection at the end of November. They mentioned to me that if it was 1 or 2 weeks later than it would have been cancelled. It was actually short protocol so I was a little bit lucky. Good luck and 🤞.
Short cycle definitely shouldn’t last 10 weeks! You go straight into stimulation. I did my last cycle which was short last November. Started stims injections on 8th Nov, egg collection was 20th Nov. I did a freeze all cycle but if I hadn’t then my egg transfer would have been 25th Nov xx
