We started a cycle last month but it was cut short just before my first scan (sperm issues). We were on long protocol and taking Synarel. My period was late last month by 6 days and I felt all the side effects of feeling moody, heavy, bloated from using Synarel.
This month I started Synarel again. I have no symptoms and now my period hasn’t come at all. It’s 9 days overdue... just wondering if this is going to have a negative effect on this IVF cycle? How will lining / thickness develop without having a cycle? What dates will they go by. I’m feeling a bit anxious about the results. The clinic said wait 14 days and they’ll scan. Has anyone had any experience of this / can spread some
Knowledge please? It would be greatly appreciated to put my mind at ease. We’ve waited so long to get the sperm to a decent quality that I just feel thwarted by Synarel and whether taking it consecutively has has a negative impact 😔 🌺 xx

I haven’t taken Synarel for multiple cycles in a row, but it did delay my period coming while I was on it, about 4 days (I started Day 21). They scanned me to confirm I didn’t have any cysts, which was all clear, and said that I could take tablets to force it on to start my stims. I ended up waiting it out as I figured by that point it was more likely to come on it’s own than the time it would take to take the pills and then come off them. It didn’t adversely affect my cycle. I do remember how stressful it was not knowing when it would come, but hopefully they can give you some reassurance at your scan.
Thanks you for you reply Peony85, I’m guessing that’s what they may do, I’m just hoping it starts before the 14 day wait. Like you mentioned, it’s just adding extra stress of more variables to deal with. Thanks again for sharing your experience 🌺 xx
