Still bleeding 😢

After my positive test last week I have continued to spot (And worry/panic) since then. Over the weekend it turned heavier just like with my last chemical/miscarriage in Feb.

I phoned the clinic This morning and had a blood test where HCG is over 19k so they want to repeat on Wednesday and do a scan to see if they might be able to see what’s going on.

I don’t see anyway this can have a positive ending to be honest but this limbo is soooo difficult! Any tips on how to cope until Wednesday really appreciated as I feel I can’t concentrate on anything! 🙈🙈

This is scary and I am keeping positive thoughts for you. I feel exactly the same as you. I had bleeding and passed a clot this morning but my clinic want me to wait until scan which is not till next week.... such a nervous time and I really feel for you but keep positive. I know it’s hard to do but hope is all we’ve got. I have been reading up on how some women get bleeding and are successful with their pregnancies. I have had two miscarriages so I know how tough it is for you and it’s hard not to be a nervous wreck. I really hope your levels keep increasing. Sending you lots of hugs xx

Thank you! So sorry to hear you’re are going through this too. Clinic initially said they would only do the blood test and then repeat 48hours later but when she phoned me back with first blood result and she said they have decided to try a scan as well so not sure why they have changed their mind. I’m not sure what A scan can tell at this point but we will see. Thinking of you and thanks for taking the time to support me when you are going through so much yourself 🤗💕 xxx

It’s definitely worth trying a scan and I guess they could do bloods if they struggle to see anything. I’ll look out for your update on Wednesday. Try and take it easy till then. I called in sick today as I couldn’t face working as I am sick with worry but it’s also giving me comfort to know that I am not the only one having bleeding so thank you for sharing xx

They usually cant see anything if less than 20000 so theyll be hoping they can offer reassurance based on your hCG.xxx

Ah I didn't know It was HCG dependant thank you!! Xx

Sorry to hear this Twiglet. However that is a good hCG! Can you up your progesterone at all, extra pessaries? It may well be a haematoma that is causing the issue....implantation can cause all sorts of bleeding etc. Get your feet up if not already and if you are on blood thinners ask the clinic if you should stop. Wishing you all the luck in the world!🤞🏻🙏🏻xxx

Hello , firstly I'm so sorry you are going through this. When I was 6 weeks I started bleeding bright red blood and went to A&E (in Italy). Doctor told me that sac had detached from uterus and embryo was small and I was definitely having a miscarriage. I chose the natural path and went back a week later - different doctor found that sac had reattached, found a regular heart beat and didn't think it was measuring too small. I'm still anxious and nervous but I have also been reading about the embryo's ability to heal itself from some abnormalities and fight on. We are approaching week 8 and another scan and hoping everything is still progressing well. Blood is not the end but I know how nerve wracking it can be xx

Aww thank you I hope all is well at your 8 week scan it sure sounds like you have a little fighter in there 😊 xx

I just wanted to let you know I recently went through a threatened miscarriage, very heavy bleeding, big clots and the bleeding went on for weeks. I’ve made it to 9 weeks tomorrow, the bleeding (touch wood) has stopped and all is ok. They could eventually see a hematoma on my scan and it has resolved itself. So please don’t give up yet your embryo may be much tougher than you think. 🤞 x

Oh I’m so sorry that you’re going through this. It’s such a long haul (after the stress of actually getting pregnant!) to get into safe waters. I can’t make the days go any quicker sadly but I would just rest up and keep your mind active if you can. Meditation/ podcasts/ reading/ anything!! Don’t google anything as that’s a great way to send yourself insane! I wish you all the best and hope all goes well with your scan xx

Aww thank you so much! I’m pretty sure there is nothing left to google at this stage, I’ve read it all 😂 yeah I should really go back to the podcasts, there isn’t really one for this particular limbo but even one to relax me would help, you’re totally right xx

I so feel for you just now. At the end of week 3/beginning of week 4, I had 3-4 relatively heavy (but not quite period) bleeds and have had on and off spotting since then too.

I went for my first scan yesterday at 6 weeks and 6 days and there were two healthy heartbeats! Any kind of bleeding is so scary but unfortunately it can also be very common. I hope it all works out for you. X

Aww thank you Chloe and huge double congratulations! Hoping things go smoother for you from now on xxx

I had 4 trips to epu due to bleeding those first 10 weeks. They scanned me first at 4w4d and couldn't see anything then again 5w4d and there was the yolk and sac then I went back and there was a little baby and heartbeat. Epu is there for you until 16 weeks so you ring them and they can see you the same day. I was told to keep mobile as it helps blood flow to the womb and baby, drink loads of water as that can cause problems if dehydrated. Pessaries I started taking rectally as I think the other way definitely caused bleeding. My HCG was high and part of me wonders if I had been carrying 2 and that was the cause for all the bleeding as at 4w4d I think my hvg was almost 5000

Wishing you good luck Hun for your scan xx

Hi, I am 9 weeks pregnant post IVF transfer and I had bleeding starting at 6 weeks which turned out to be a subchorionic hematoma. It had since bled out and me and baby are so far okay. Last week I had an ultrasound with a 173 heart beat. Elevate your legs, drink a lot of water and try to relax as much as you can. My doctor stopped baby aspirin during the bleed so you should ask your doctor about stopping if you are taking it as well. Best of luck to you !

Twiglet2 in reply toC_271

Thank you! I’m not taking the baby aspirin or any blood thinners thank goodness. So pleased to hear you and baby are doing well xx 🤗

Hi C! Could I ask why your doctor advised you to stop taking the baby aspirin during the bleed? Thanks!

Twiglet2 profile image
Twiglet2 in reply toTash2020

Aspirin reduces the bloods ability to clot so you wouldn’t want to take it when actively bleeding xx
