Hello!

Hope you amazing lot are all well 😍

I am booked for my transfer on Wednesday 19th and I need to start taking my progesterone pessaries on Friday!

I was wondering do I take one on Wednesday morning before I go for my transfer?

Xx

Hi Walton,

How exciting!!! 😀💕

I had my FET on Friday, the clinic called me the day before and I asked this very question!

I was told to either not use the pessaries till after the transfer or to put in the back rather than the front if you know what I mean 🙈 Then to carry on as normal until my test takes place.

Worth checking as mine was in the morning so it might be different if you are in the afternoon.

Good luck! Xxx

Thank you so much! I’ll give them a call and check! How is the 2WW 🙈 hopefully zooming by!

Have you had many symptoms from the progesterone? I’ve read some horror stories xx

It’s been ok so far thanks just trying to keep busy. Although every little twinge I feel I’m like ‘what’s that!?’ 🤦🏽‍♀️ I’m trying to think positive and hope it’s my little embaby settling in for the next nine months.

Weirdly my 2WW is only nine days though! I’ve been told to test after 9 days as it was a day 5 blastocyst and if it’s negative to test again 2-3 days later! 🤷🏽‍♀️

The only side affect I’ve got from the progesterone is just feeling unbelievably tired all the time. Xxx

This makes me so happy you can test after 9 days! I hope it’s the same for me!! When is your OTD? Must be fast approaching!!

Oh that’s good! Well not good you’re tired but good it’s only tiredness! 🤣 hopefully that’s a good sign for your little embaby!

Xx

Thanks! Yes it was a nice surprise when she said that it was only 9 days to wait! I must admit I’m totally confused by it but not going to argue! OTD on Sunday - I don’t think I’ll sleep at all on Saturday night! 🤦🏽‍♀️

Agreed, I can deal with over tiredness, a good excuse to chill and binge watch some girly tv! 😊 xxx

I have always been told pessaries as normal on transfer day (one in the morning and one a night) they clean your cervix first before the transfer, transfers for me have always been afternoon though so might be different for a morning transfer. Either way your embryologist will let you know. The pessaries are right through now to pregnancy test and (hopefully) beyond when you get positive result ☺️ Xx

Hey goodluck for the upcoming transfer. What twiglet said. First round i took them as instructed also before my transfer (they clean your cervix) i was on 3 a day vaginally. Second transfer i was on one a day rectally which i took night before xx so basically take them on your transfer day as you would on any other day instructed xx

Given all I've read on this page about progesterone, I would thread the thought of even skipping a dose. Moreover, most pessaries absorb 20 - 30mins after inserting, so you can definitely use one before going; or better still, use it up the back door before going.

In any case, all the best with the transfer

Well my clinic asked me.to use it as usual before transfer and there was no problem really because they will stiil clean your cervix before the transfer. I got a positive result so had no issues with it. x
