Period just started and I was naively hoping this time it would be a good result as I don't want to have to go down IVF route. Can anyone give advice or guidance on the road ahead? I think they will do an x-ray of tubes 1st to see if any blockages and then if not it's the IVF route for us. I am 34 and mindful of my age but have not had any red flags so far and did get pregnant once, unfortunately it ended in a silent miscarriage that was last year so it's been a tough year trying to get married, pregnant all during Covid 19, the year of nothing. Any support or help is much appreciated. Thanks

Guidance on IVF or the inbetween stage
There is lots of things that they may do before IVF depending on all test results.
I found the actually IVF process of fine. What is hard is the waiting times until you get to the top of the list, and when you start the process it is the unkown all the time: how will my body react, how many eggs will they get, how many will fertilise, will it work etc.
Also please remember that there is no guarantee that it will work. The success rate is actually pretty low. Don't mean to put a damper on it but that was a shock to me! Good luck
I totally agree with Edinburgh12 the actual IVF process isn't that bad. You get used to what you should be doing pretty quickly, even the injections aren't that bad. It's all the waiting that is painful. I know there is still lots of waiting when you're naturally trying, but for some reason is just seems more intense when it's IVF. Maybe it's the expectation that it should be a different result because it's IVF.
Are you NHS or going private? I went private (wasn't elible for NHS without a lot of waiting which due to my low AMH I didn't have time to do!) If going down the private option things move quicker, but obviously it's puts another burden on things as the costs do add up.
Do you just have unexplained infertility? Has your partner had tests?
When they do a scan to test your tubes are they doing a HyCoSy? Because as part of that type of scan they can also run dye through your tubes to flush everything out. It basically makes sure the path up and down is clear and can help with natural fertility. I got pregnant a month after mine - it ended in a miscarriage (nothing to do with the scan) and a friend has a 3 year old daughter 2 months after having something similar.
Basically don't give up on the good old fashioned way of getting pregnant while waiting for IVF. And if you do go down the IVF route make sure you plan loads of things to distract you during your cycle.
Wishing you lots of luck xxx
Hi... Ivf Wil be helpful for one who has blocked tubes. Fertilization is the only purpose of ivf.... After transferring an embryo, it's body's condition which is important for success. Check for thyroid n sugar levels and also I recommend you to go through tubes checking and if there is no blockage then try naturally.
If there is a blockage, then if u try naturally, there is a risk that the fertilized egg might struck in blocked tube n it might lead to a serious surgery which might involve in removing fallopian tube. So Ivf is only option if u have blocked tubes. Since ur 36...go for ivf only if u hv blockages and don't wait....
