So my 4 little embies are in the embryo scope time lapse thingi. Today is day 4
I was thinking oh haven't heard anything from the embroyoligst so everything must be progressing ok. However! Just had call of them to book me in for transfer tomorrow. I asked how they were getting on and she said they dont check them until day 5?! Is that normal?
In total panic now that they might all have stopped growing. :'-(
This waiting game is torture!

Yes, they only check them for fertilisation then day 3 and again on day 5 (nothing on day 4) so all sounding completely normal!! Hope transfer goes smoothly, good luck.xx
I think it's a new thing when they don't check on day 3. I've had 2 previous rounds with a day 3 update but this round I have to wait to day 5/6.
Yes we had a call day1 to tell us how many had fertilised then they said they would call day 5. We asked if there would be anything in between and they said no because the embryos can change so much between day 3 and 5 that they don’t do a day 3 check anymore. Good luck, I had embryo transfer Monday xx
Hi kathgibson. Try not to worry as th embryologist must have been happy t leave them be. Hopefully you will be in for a lovely surprise tomorrow.Hope all goes well. Diane
Yes. Normal not to have a call back on day 4 although on my first cycle I did get a call to say 2 had made early blastocysts and were frozen that day (a day early) but I’m guessing they must have forecast that on day 3 so added them extra check in as I think they prefer to freeze them before they hatch which they might have missed had they not checked at all on day 4
Waiting is torture but its unlikely that 4 will stop growing. Best of luck for transfer. X
My experience was different where I had an update every day, but by the other responses it seems to be normally to not have this so might just depend on your clinic. Fingers crossed for you 🤞
Thinking back to when i had my 2nd ivf round, yes i dont think they called between day 1 and 5. I think waiting for those calls from the embryologist was the worst part of my entire journey!! It all sounds very positive for you if its day 4 and they have booked you in for transfer so try to relax a little! This is the good part! I never got to have a fresh transfer due to risk of OHSS, but when ive had frozen transfers it was the best bit. I always felt a massive sense of relief and calm during and after the transfer. Good Luck!! Xxx
