First round of IUI - one follicle

Hi all, I’m currently undergoing my first round of IUI, assisted. We have unexplained infertility.

I had my day 7 scan and it showed 3 follicles growing (11mm, 11mm and 12mm). Just had my last scan (day 10) and unfortunately only one has continued to grow, at 18mm.

The nurse said all looked really good with the lining the follicle is a good size so we’re going to go ahead with the procedure this week.

I was hoping for at least 3 follicles, anyone got any experience with IUI and if so is 1 follicle enough?

Hello, I'm not sure if it is the same where you are but where I am, they do not allow the procedure to continue if you have more than 3 follicles over 17mm. 1 is fine, 2 is ideal and 3 is borderline too many and can risk multiple pregnancies.

Fortunately, i had 3 healthy ones at 17mm and 1 cyst at 20mm with the IUI treatment taking place on day 12 of my cycle. I had 3 shots of Menopur. Day 5, 7 & 9 at 75ui. and then a shot of Ovitrell on day 11 and insemination on day 12. I am currently on my 2 week wait and due to take a test on Friday 17th. Best of luck x
