Hi all, I’m 32 and My husband and I have been trying to conceive for 2.5 years. We’ve been through all the exploratory tests and the only issue we can find is that my husband has an abnormally high sperm count with high abnormality count. The doctor explained it like a busy road where the good sperm can’t get passed the low functioning sperm! I’ve never come across the issue elsewhere. Anyone else?
My tests all came back good, both of us are physically active and healthy so we’re a bit baffled.
Anyway we’re about to start IUI, I’m waiting on my medication to arrive and I’ll call them on day 1 of my period to book in.
I wouldn’t say I’m feeling negative but I’ve got really low expectations. I can’t find anyone with similar issues and I’m just not expecting it to work.
I’d love to hear from people who have had positive outcomes so I can go into it a little more optimistically! Thank you.

Hi Calyami. Just wanted to wish you well with this, and hope there are plenty of normal formed sperm and good swimmers among the masses. Good luck! Diane
Hi Diane, yes, thankfully plenty of normal formed good swimmers in the mix. I’ve just not come across this before so it’s hard to find any other people experiencing the same issues and then having a successful IUI.
Thank you
My husbands results are the same as your husbands! But I think I have pcos aswell just in process of finding out atm. Have you tried impryl or any other supplements? They make a improvement in some cases? We are thinking about iui hope it all goes well for you both fingers crossed <3 xxxx
Hi I'm due to start stimulated IUI next cycle. I'm afraid success rates are low at my clinic (12%). I have ovulation disorder so we're hoping odds could be better if I could just pop an egg. The odds aren't great but still an improvement on the current situation. I think we can be hopeful.
Hi Vivi85, wishing you the best of the luck. My clinic doesn’t have the best odds but they explained that they aren’t selective about who they take on, if all clinics only took on the cases that were guaranteed to work, they’d all have 100% success rate.
I’m starting to realise that everyone’s situation is unique.
Definitely stay hopeful, it will all be okay in one way or another x
