I’ve been on a fairly strict diet since Jan and now having a freeze all cycle. I know slot of the diet is to do with egg quality so I’m wondering what kind of diets ppl have been doing after collection if they have a bit of a break... I’m hoping I can relax abit or should I stay on this? I’d really like to enjoy a bottle of wine tbh so thoughts welcomed...
Thanks

Hi Sarah. I would recommend tht you stay on a pre-conception diet, which is where you will be. A good choice would be: Carbohydrates - Wholegrain bread and wholemeal pasta, oatmeal, brown rice. All fresh vegetables especially raw or steamed. Over boiling rids them of vitamins and minerals, pineapple juice, apricots, potatoes, all fruit and honey, beans, chickpeas and lentils. Protein - Organic meat if possible, poultry, fish, Milk and hard cheese, nuts and seeds. Fat - Extra virgin olive oil and sunflower oil, avocado and peanut butter, mackerel, sardines, nuts (especially Brazil and walnuts), seeds, sweet corn and sweet potatoes. The things to avoid are too much sugar, processed foods, ready meals, butter, ice cream etc. A little is OK, but not all the time. Drink plenty of water and only a little tea and coffee if feeling deprived. Cut right down or right out on alcohol and smoking. - perhaps a couple of glasses of wine a week. Oh and don’t forget the Folic Acid and Vitamin D or pre-conception multivitamins! Hope this helps and all the best with the FET when it happens. Diane
Hi Sarah, I had a diet break after my first IVF round. I ate & drank what I liked, was so nice after being strict for so long. I’ve now got my FET consultation next week so I’ll go back on the Mediterranean diet, cut out alcohol & caffeine.
