Hi all, hope your all have been managing at this tough time.
So my clinic has given me the “go ahead” to start my 2nd round of IVF which will be a Frozen cycle I was originally told i had to wait for and start on my 3rd bleed, but recently been told I can go on my 2nd bleed. However I’m still waiting for that second bleed to come. Iv read this is common for people to have a late cycle or sometimes doesn’t come at all? Anyone experienced this?
Also I’m concerned regarding my weight. My BMI is 30 (anyone else around the same?)
Iv asked to put a “hold” on treatment to allow me to lose some weight. Does anyone know much about the BMI side of things? Am I write in waiting till shed some pounds? Any help or advice would be appreciated xx

I have read that it can be more successful with a BMI under 25. I think there is no harm in putting yourself in the best possible position. Xxx
My bmi was something like 33/34 at our first fertility app was told it had to be below 30 so everyone is told this at their app so they have time to lose weight whilst waiting for treatment. We had miscarriage tests only thing which they suggested was lose some weight and take vitamins my bmi is now 26 which is still slightly over the normal range but not having ivf so makes no odds.
Got my BMI down to 27 for my first IVF which sadly ended in MC. For my FET I had gained a fair amount of weight and my BMI was about 31. Our FET was successful and my little boy is now 18 weeks old. The only difference was that during pregnancy I was on the high BMI pathway, so had one extra check up. I lost so much weight in the first trimester that it went back down to 28. It's up to you but I don't think you need to lose weight for your FET with a BMI at 30 xx
Can i ask if they weighed you before your FET and if they mentioned anything about your weight being above 30? I am due to start FET after having a MMC in March, my bmi was 29 before my first ivf but now sitting about 30.7 and am worried they wont allow me to do the FET unless it below 30 xx
Hi there, they didn't weigh me before my FET but I know some clinics do. It wouldn't take much weight loss for you to get back below 30, just a couple of lbs. best of luck lovely x
Thank you for responding ladies. I’m going to have FET in July, (as long as I get some weight off) this is my last go at IVF so I want to try and do my best. I’m having the additional treatment too (glue & Scratch) to try and up the odds. 😘 xx
Hi, could you please tell me more about what is the problem with the extra fat? Does it make it more difficult to produce eggs? Does it not matter for the implantation?
