Is this a normal free T4 and TSH?

I have been undergoing fertility treatment for almost a year now, I have been reading on the US fertility groups they TSH should be under 1-1.5. I have looked back at my bloodwork and it was as follows:

- free T4 10.6 (7.5-21.1) and TSH 2.17 (0.3-5) Dec 2018

- T3 5.02 (4-8.3), free T4 15.6 (12-22) and TSH 2.26 (0.27-4.2); TgAb 15.7 (<115), TPOAb <9 (<34) - ran myself through medichecks 2 weeks after stopping stims Dec 2019

The thyroid UK website suggests if your TSH is > 2 to consider hypothyroidism, and then lists the free T4 range as 10-24. My clinic has reported both sets of results as normal, but I worry that my T4 is low normal.

I am 39 of normal BMI, and ovarian reserve is the only issue that has been identified. Can anyone give any advice on this? Should I be concerned?

Hi I'm on thyroxin. I was originally told your tsh needs to be below 2 when you go for implantation then. Speak to gp. Or clinic. If you get a positive test after treatment they may offer you thyroxin.. Btf website very helpful.

My fertility doctor has cleared these results as normal, and so I know that the GP will also given their TSH cut off for diagnosis is 4.5.

They are normal but we are having what doctors call subclinical hypothyroidism. I am also taking thyroxine as our consultant recommended it just to keep TSH levels below 2.

I had my Thyroid checked last week through Medichecks as I was speaking to an Acupuncturist who said the “normal” range is different to optimal for fertility. My results were 4.35 so only just above 4.2 but I’ve been put on Thyroxine today by my clinic as research suggests it should be below 2. If you get a BFP it’ll need to be monitored as well. As May37 has said some of the websites are really helpful x

Hi. My tsh was close to the upper limit (4.2) and the fertility endocrinologist said it should be below 2.5 (I am from Romania, so protocols may be different). I took thyroxin and it was fine. Once pregnant, monitoring every 6 weeks and no issues (tsh further decreased). Successful 1st ivf round 😊

Good luck!

What did your TSH come down to prior to pregnancy?

They tested it after 6 weeks of thyroxin and it was 2.56. It was not retested before pregnancy (confirmed 4 months later). I retested when I was almost 2 months pregnant (1.85) and almost 3 months pregnant (0.95). I asasume my TSH was approx. 2.00 - 2.50 before becoming pregnant.
