Hi just phoned the clinic regarding fet to book an earlier consultation. The nurse said that I will have to call back on the 18th to find out if they will reopen or not... 😔 I'm so upset now because I got 4 frozens that I want to transfer so more waiting..... I mean what happens if they don't open do I move to another clinic?? Anyone in similar position?

Every clinic has to submit an application to the HFEA outlining what they are doing to keep everyone safe. The HFEA will then either give consent to open, or request additional measures.

Therefore clinics cannot give a definite date yet until they get their response from the HFEA.

Everyone is in the same boat.

Hi love. Yup, my clinic is all evasive too (although they have their phone lines turned off so even harder to get answers from!). They have said as they can't even APPLY until the 11th (as we know), they won't know anything until after that. So how are other people's clinics putting in plans then? I was hoping to do a fresh cycle next, but also have a frozen embryo, which I would be happy to use if it meant we could get moving again quicker (e.g. if my clinic was only doing frozen embryo transfers).

Hi, my clinic has already submitted their applications and expect the decision by the end of this week.

So they are allowed to apply before the 11th. Perhaps your clinic meant they won’t have all their plans in place and report ready until the 11th.

Its just more waiting isn't it? I mean I know we have to wait till the 11th but we have to wait then for answers It could be they could be the last to open etc.. I have 4 frozens aswell... Im just fed up today. 😔

Just wanted to share an update from my clinic. They also said that the application from the HFEA to reopen won’t be available until the 11th and it will take up to 5 days to get approved, so they also are planning for the 18th as their earliest restart. Trying to be optimistic, it could have been way worse! I was thinking it would be July at the earliest. Xx

Hi , yes it is difficult. My clinic said they hope the HFEA turn around the applications in 5 days and can submit stuff to HFEA now and plan treatments / cycles etc now to minimize further waiting so that people can start asap and will also extend opening hours etc. . yes think it is fine to ask clinics info about transferring to another clinic - I asked about the cancellation / refund situation - i think info about options is important. I hope all clinics are open safely asap x
