Please help!!

I should be 6 + 4 days pregnant and I went for a general pelvic scan ( on going issues since mmc at 15 weeks last dec) to see if we could get some reassurance but I’m now filled with worry. He said he could see a gestational sac and maybe yolk sac but image was so grainy would be hard to tell. Also said I was just a few weeks and should take a pregnancy test but I know I should be 6 plus weeks. I also have a 5cm cyst on ovary.

I have contacted midwife who seems to think it could be a blighted ovum but I have no idea. Was it just that he was a general sonographer and wouldn’t be able to date such an early pregnancy or should I prepare to miscarry again? I have called gp to see is he would check hcg but said he wouldn’t as couldn’t interpret results. They are also reducing the scans they are carrying out because of this stupid virus so I don’t know what to do or think. My husband is devastated, I know he is- I seem to have failed again 😭

Is there still hope do u think? Please help me!

Sorry you're going through this worry. Was it an abdominal scan or internal? Are your dates definate (like ivf) or could you be a few days out?

Try to think positive until definitely proven otherwise would be my advice... At this stage a few days can make a lot of difference. Could you maybe get a private scan around a week after the one you've had? I've read people saying before about being worried after not seeing what is expected at early scans and a week later everything is fine. Good luck xx

I don’t believe you have a yolk sac when you have a blighted ovum - you just have an empty sac or at least that’s all I had

Even if you were just five days out you would only be 5+6 and just a sac would be quite normal at that stage

It’s impossible not to buy worrying won’t help, I would self refer to EPU in another week for a proper scan and things will be so much clearer. I know that sounds like ages away but there is little point in going any sooner as nothing will change that dramatically in days

Hi early pregnancy units are more equipped to determine pregnancies that early. I once was told that sonagraghers choose trimesters to study. And that if one specialises in 1st trimester she could not tell me anything about the second she said that’s out of my league. Book and early scan transvaginal privately if you can afford too. And go from there or phone your local early pregnancies unit and explain your history and mention you haven’t had a scan yet and you are 6 weeks they should scan you . Best of luck xoxo
