Please help - bleeding

Just coming back from our emergency scan to update to say that everything is ok! They think the bleeding might be because of the second sac, they also saw another small heamatoma which they said could also come through.

But baby was wriggling away, what a bloody relief!! Next goal, go through 2 whole days without absolute dread! 🤞🤦🏻‍♀️

So the relief of our 12 week scan lasted a day. Tonight for the first time ever I’ve wiped light pinkish blood. I’m not sure if it’s a coincidence that it’s also the first full day I’ve not had the progesterone pessaries in. Has anyone had this before, do you have any advice please?

Hi lizzy. I’ve heard this is common. But O how stressful for you, it will be nothing I’m sure but for your own reassurance can u contact your local midwife unit at your local hospital now? I contacted them during all hours of the day and night for reassurance during my pregnancy with my lb. xxx

I can imagine you must be so worried, I’m not sure what is the best thing to do, can you ring your early pregnancy or emergency unit for advice? If it’s only a little then im sure it’s nothing to worry about at all but any bleed is scary.

I think I would feel like putting myself back on the progesterone quickly but obviously i have no idea whether that would be a good thing to do xx

Ring epu for sure u need reassurance some women stay on progesterone till 16 weeks i think more so as a safety net, it might be to do with progesterone and I'd be tempted to use it if still have some and maybe start wearing off them by 14 weeks. Speak to your clinic or midwife though. Wish you all the best hun 😘💗

if you have stock of progesterone. Can you take it until u get assurance from another scan

I’m not sure progesterone is needed after 12 weeks as body makes it so don’t think that’s the reason. I had a lot of bleeding in this pregnancy and was a hematoma. Take deep breaths and think positive. Xxx

Could this of been from the scan pressing down on your bladder? I would call the EPU and see what they say my lovely. Xx

Waiting for a triage nurse from the EPU to call me back. I’ve gone back on the pessaries and haven’t had any fresh blood overnight but more brown discharge where I could see bits of the old pessaries. Please God let everything be ok, I can’t take this stress 😢😢

Did they do an internal? If so I am sure it is just disruption of the cervix. Can quite understand why you are so worried but I remember I always got bleeding/spotting after scans because they dig around a bit. Crossing my fingers for you I am sure all is fine xx

No it was external but she did have to dig quite a bit to get the neck measurement. I broke down to the nurse over the phone and she said only because of the state I'm in they'll see me, going in tomorrow morning

Hi Lizzy, I pray that God will protect your little angel. Please keep your hope up. All will be well. I also had fresh pinky blood, then brown discharge for alleast 2 weeks. I continued using my pessaries though am 36 weeks gone now. Our bodies react differently. I always had low progesterone level. I took a combination of the pessaries and progesterone injection until the bleeding stopped. So I continued with the pessaries till today. I wish you all the best and pray that everything works out fine.

Thanks hun I was in a right state as also passed a small clot last night. The sonographer said we looked like we were going to a funeral. It was awful we saw 2 other couples that had the same pink slips we did hope the God they got good news too.

Jeezo, you are not having an easy time of it! Such a worrying time. I've had a bit of brown discharge this morning but no pain so I'm keeping my fingers crossed its just something similar to you. I'm still on progesterone at the moment, it's a scary thought to stop.xx

I’ve gone back on. I’ve got a consultant appointment on Thurs so will ask them about it, not keen to go through that again! xx
