Grade C hope needed

I’ve just returned from having my Grade 3 or Grade C embryo transferred. The clinic gave me a 10% success rate and I was given several ‘pity’ looks, no positives like ‘miracles do happen’. In my opinion negativity can cause miscarriage and I’m trying my hardest to block out the noise and concentrate on how I feel. 10% chance is better than no chance! I had a day two transfer.

Can anyone tell me how they dealt with this kind of attitude? I’m a realist but I’ve heard of some success stories, so don’t want to be too down beat yet. I’ve attached an image of what my embryo looks like!

Hi my love. Super fingers crossed for your embryo 🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞. I think the clinics can come off as negative sometimes as they're trying to manage expectations and not get hopes up. I'm a realist (ish) but you've got to have hope otherwise you wouldn't go through all this! This may be the one; embryos of varying grades make it (we have no idea what "natural" pregnancy embryos are like!)! But don't worry if your emotions go up and down over the 2ww as negativity can't have any impact on your chances of getting pregnant. Don't worry about that. Sending you lots of love. xxx

Sorry they were negative, I’m sure it was hard to hear that.

But, back in the original IVF days, they only ever transferred day 2 or day 3 embies, it went by cells and no grading was involved & there was success so I always try to think of that.

Science is amazing but sometimes we know too much 🤦🏻‍♀️

Good luck to you. Sending baby dust 💕

I had day 2 Embrayo too, the clinic gave me 20% chance, although I used Embrayo glue, now 10 to 11 weeks gone already, went for my 10weeks scan on Monday my baby was doing just fine and measuring fine,

Just relax and be positive, sending you ❤❤❤❤❤

It's awful how theyve done that to you. Like you I'm a realist and am very much of the opinion I want to be told straight, but whats the harm in them being positive? I truly believe positivity makes miracles. Stay strong and do everything you can to relax. Wishing you all the luck in the world xxx

Thank you, it’s good to have some empathy! It’s all in the delivery with this type of communication. You can tell the truth but still sugarcoat it a bit! I’m eating beetroot and drinking pomegranate juice!X

Yeah exactly. Some people shouldnt be in a caring profession. Ooh I never heard about beetroot. I did the pomegranate juice and 3 brazil nuts a day. I'm still going it now at 6 weeks as I darent stop Haha xx

Agreed! I don’t think I’ve had the best experience. It took 4 attempts to get the catheter in! The first nurse tried 3 times and couldn’t do it, in her words “I’m getting the more experienced nurse” who did it first time! I know everyone’s got to learn, but you just feel a little why me? Now? Really? After being given the low quality egg news.

Have a read of this! Beetroot is worth a try.thedietologist.com.au/do-th... I was told about it by an acupuncturist.

Keep the faith honey! Xx

We have a Grade C in the freezer. I don’t think they would have done that if it wasn’t a good chance.

I’m sure that if you keep positive, eat well and be happy, it will have a good fighting chance of surviving.

Don’t they say some embryos develop better in a more natural environment? I’m no scientist but many of us who were conceived naturally could have been “Grade Cs” there’s no way of knowing.

I sometimes struggle with how to take certain people in these situations. I can take an instant dislike to someone if I get an incline they aren’t being supportive or come across sharp. I think I am over sensitive anyway to anything at the moment but sometimes I have to let it blow over and then I realise it was me over thinking.

Don’t think about them now! Think about you and this little fighting embryo. Sending lots of luck xxx

Sorry you had to hear that. Keep visualizing that embryo implanting and growing into a healthy baby and being born. Grading only tells you so much. (You can send a grade A embryo and grade C embryo for PGS testing and the C can come back normal and the A can come back abnormal. ) eat well, chill out, spend time with people who make you happy and watch comedy.
