ET today, but not feeling hopeful. A grade 3B transfer.

So I had my ET at 2pm today. It was uncomfortable, but I think most of that was because I was bursting for a wee. As the procedure has to be done on a full bladder. Out of our 15 eggs collected last week, only 2 fertilised. We've had one frozen , I can't remember what quality it was but apparently, it wasn't a good grade.

The egg we've had transferred today was only a 3B. Im under the impression that a 3B is quite poor quality? X

It doesnt sound too bad! Its still got a good chance the grading are 5 being best to 1 and A being best to C. So a 3B is right in the middle. Gradings are only an educated guess at what may give a pregnancy. Some ladies have pregnancies with poor looking embryos and some dont get pregnant with the top graded ones....its just a lottery if you ask me!! Sending you some positive vibes, best of luck!xx

Thanks for your reply Cinderella. So looking at it, ours is average then I guess. Im just so surprised that we've gone from having 15 eggs down to 2. Hopefully this one is all we need xx

Hey Loulav,

I think you’ve just got to keep telling yourself that they wouldn’t have transferred it if there was no hope of it working? I’ve had pupils who I thought would only get a C come out with an A* so there’s always hope 😊 (I know it’s not the same but a good analogy is always fun isn’t it?!) Look after yourself and try to keep positive 💕 xxx

Thanks for your reply wemma. I love your analogy hahah. I'll stick with that. Always best to stay postive eh! X

I feel like grading doesn't guarantee a positive result if it is a high grade so I wouldn't be so fixed on it for that reason.

Nature will decide if it works and seems like on this forum people had success with all kinds of grades.

We had 2BB which they said was good - but I have no idea what it meant or if they meant good for 'my age' ;) but it didn't work!

It is a bit or a lottery :)

Best of Luck with it! Xxx

Our last transfer was a 3bb and the lab team assured us that was still a good quality blast. It was a fet. Like they told us, they don’t freeze unless it’s good enough for transfer. Good luck xx

And did you have success? X

Sadly no. But it was expanding at transfer and doing all it should have been. But look at it this way; my first transfer was a 5aa (absolutely top grade) and failed too so putting that into context it doesn’t mean much xx

Sorry to hear that Tugsgirl. I hope you have more luck next time. Yours was 5AA! Wow that was good. Like you say, it clearly can't all be about the quality of the egg. What will be will be eh x

Thank you Mrs P. Its given me some reassurance. What will be will be.

Yes I panicked going for a wee. I even panicked to step off the bed after the transfer, I tiptoed gently out of the room 😂

My 15 month old daughter was a 3ba - the last embryo we had with our first fresh round- we had two transfers before her which were a 5aa and 4ba! Both of those failed.

The clinic can’t tell how the embryos will progress once they have been transferred they can only say how they look like at this moment. Keep faith. Have everything crossed for you xx

I had a 3ab and a 3bc put back in and I'm currently 7 weeks pregnant with a singleton so that rating is definitely good enough 😀 good luck xx

Hey lovely, as everyone else has said - a 3B isn’t bad quality! And there are so many success stories with this quality of embryo so please don’t be disheartened!

Hope you’re ok. Try to stay as positive and relaxed as possible during the 2WW. Have my fingers firmly crossed for you 🤞🏼🤞🏼sending you loads of love 💕

Hi Caza

Thank you for your reply. Its really strange. But i don't want to get excited and cant relate to even having an embryo in me right now, just incase we don't have a positive test result. Im going to try and switch off now until the 23rd. Does that sound bad? X

That doesn’t sound bad at all! Everyone deals with these things in their own way. You need to do what’s right for you! And I totally get what you mean by not wanting to get excited - that’s defo normal!!

Switch off and try to relax...hoping the 23rd comes quickly for you ❤️ xx
