Hi ladies.

Does any of you know if it’s safe to take antihistamines when pregnant. I’m nearly 32 weeks and my skin is itching all over. It’s driving me mad and I am trying hard not to scratch but it’s impossible!!! Need some advice quickly.

Thank you xx

Hi I wouldn't take it if I were you. Apply some olive oil and /or cream and drink plenty of water. If the itchiness does not go away and it gets worse tomorrow contact your midwife as this may indicate some issues with your liver (cholestasis). X

Hello Lovely, I had the same thing happen to me, I went to the pharmacy and they are not licensed to give you anything and you need to speak to a doctor. I was given something in the end but I had to push for it. Xx

Hi Emma. You must report any itching skin to your midwife/GP to check if there is a problem with your blood levels. He/she will advise on antihistamines too, but please see someone. Diane
