3rd day on Gonal

So apart from my little melt down on the first injection- my husband has to do them as I physically can’t do it. They don’t hurt but the side effects haven’t been pleasant. I thought I’d be all over the place “hormones” wise but it’s made me feel ill. I have a constant headache, I feel sick at times but hungry more than usual. I feel weak and faint sometimes. I spent the whole day in bed yesterday. I’m so glad it’s half term and I am hoping these side effects ease off in time for Monday. I am still on my nasals 4x a day and the nurse said that once I started on gonal that I’d feel better but that’s not the case so far. I’m really tired and just want to lie around most the time. I’ve been keeping busy when I can but just want to cuddle on the sofa and not really been out my pjs all week. Sleeping is also quite broken, takes me a while to drift off. Anyone else suffer from side effects like this?

Hello. Sorry to hear how bad your side effects are. I am on day 2 of Gonal f. My nurse said that it can balance side effects too initially. I have felt a tiny bit more emotionally stable but very constipated which I think is from Buserelin? I know I need to drink more water too. I’ve had night sweats and only had 4 hrs sleep on some nights which is not good when also working full time. I try to keep thinking that this is only for a short time. We can do it 💪🏼.

Look after yourself. It sounds like everyone reacts differently to the meds. x

i had a lot of difficulty with sleep during my first round as well (also with gonal f). my doc suggested i take 5mg of melatonin a night to help. not sure if it did but i took it anyway and hoped it helped somehow!

I have all these symptoms just on Norethisterone! These hormones do mess with you! Imagine I'm going to be a mess when I start gonal-f on Friday too.
