I'm new here and waiting for fertility treatment

Hi, I'm new here. I'm currently waiting for fertility treatment. I'm being very patient. How did you cope with the long wait just for fertility treatment to start? I'm trying to remain as positive-thinking as I can. Anybody in the same situation as me?

I've done pre-conception blood tests and ultrasound test but I'm still waiting for fertility treatment

The waiting is a nightmare. I'm starting my injections in two weeks and it feels like an age away. I find the waiting the worst part as there's nothing you can do.

Good luck with the injections! Your journey gives me hope that all that wait will be worth it. Thanks.

I have found the waiting really difficult at times. It is a long road. The time has allowed my mind to sometimes overthink things which has not been good.

I have tried to remember to make the most of the time NOW and do things that we are fortunate enough to be able to do. Go for a walk/run, do yoga, read a book, do things that my friends with babies currently can not do whenever they feel like it.

I have also spent time planning in my head, what if the ivf is not successful? I am going to plan a holiday, consider taking a career break (or throw myself into work even more), consider private ivf, look into adoption. This has made me feel more in control and aware that I have options and choices.

Yes waiting is very difficult. Going for a walk/yoga is good advice, thanks. I'm currently on my weight loss journey for the IVF. I'm dieting and trying to be active. Dieting is torture but I have to do it.

I am in the same situation as you xx

It doesn't get any easier hun. I had my fist appointment with my fertility clinic in Oct 2019 after a 6 weeks wait from my GP referral. Since then I am waiting for my IVF treatment. Now that all tests are complete, I am suspecting my next appointment will be about applying for IVF funding. I head from other's experience that it take around 6 weeks from the funding to get it approved and then depending on your clinic, more than 3 months to complete your IVF treatment.

Yes I heard the same too, it takes long to get the first round of check ups then you have to wait for the IVF referral to the main clinic then you have to wait further for the actual fertility treatment. And, on top of that is the two week wait for the pregnancy result. The fertility community go through so much ! We deserve a medal or something, after all the patience.

Haha true - I just want my baby : )

It is hard but we are going to get through.

My next appointment is on 30th March. How far are you in the process?

I've had my blood tests and ultrasound. Now, I am waiting for the next referral for the fertility treatment. I rang the clinic to ask when is my appointment but they said it takes a number of weeks before they give me an appointment date. How long did it take to get your appointment date letter?

My letter for my next appointment came after 2 weeks after my last appointment on 20th Jan. You will get your appointment letter very soon too. What is confusing the letter doesn't explain what my next appointment is going to be about? I am just guessing lol.
