When did HCG leave your system after miscarriage?

Looking for some assistance or advice here. Last Friday (1/24) I miscarried through manual vacuum aspiration. I was 8w4d but the baby only measured 6w2d. I've been spotting on and off since then but it's just about over with. I took a pregnancy test this morning and I'm still testing positive.

My questions for you ladies:

How long will it take for the HCG to go down or leave completely?

My husband and I want to try right away for another baby (the doctor said we can). Can I ovulate with HCG in my system still? When you do you ovulate after miscarriage? Will my ovulation strips give me false results with HCG in my system?

Thank you!

So sorry to hear about your loss it's heartbreaking. I was told to test 3 weeks after my MMC / D&C and they were about right to the day. So I'd say you have a couple of weeks at least til it's out of your system. I believe HCG can give a false positive on an ovulation test as I've heard ladies use them as pregnancy tests. Afraid I can't say how quickly I ovulated as I wasn't ready / didn't test for a while afterwards. I can totally understand the need to try again though so just do what's right for you Hun xx

So sorry to hear about your loss. We found out at 6w5d that it wasn't viable, miscarriage started about 2weeks later, and was still testing positive at over 12 weeks. I think it was prolonged though due to not responding as expected to medical management and 3 sacs initially so miscarried them in stages and at 1 point there was still 1 sac for a while. I had my first period after the miscarriage a few days after it ended and have been using the ava bracelet this month to see whether ovulated this month and it confirmed I did. I didn't use the OPK strips but good point - the HCG may give a false reading.

I remember EPU said to us that if we are still getting a positive two weeks after miscarriage bleeding stops to give them a call so think they expect it to take a while to go down too.

Have you been offered any HCG blood tests from EPU or clinic?

Big hugs xxx here if you want to chat x

I’m so sorry for your loss. It depends if the hcg level was very high, mine took 2-3 weeks and it was a natural miscarriage at home. In regard to ovulation there are no rules, but it’s possible to get pregnant straight away even without getting your period. It’s recommended to wait one cycle to make sure your endometrial wall is tick enough for implantation and to be sure on dates if you do get pregnant. Anyway there are no rules and it does not apply to everyone, people had a successful pregnancy straight away. Good luck x

I had an mva and took pt every couple days just curious it took 2w before it was negative then I got a true positive on opk a few days later then got my period 2w after that.
