Post Egg Retrieval Anxiety

Hi there,

I had an egg retrieval in March (10 eggs retrieved, 8 fertilised) that ultimately led to 3 x day 5 embryos and 3 x unsuccessful FET (one chemical). I have just gone through a second egg retrieval with the plan of sending any embryos for PGT-A testing. This time only 9 eggs were retrieved and only 4 (maybe a 5th) have fertilised). I will hear on Sunday how many can be biopsied but feeling really demoralised :'(. I am just about to turn 40....starting to feel hopeless...

I’m sorry to hear you feel deflated, but I will say it only takes 1! You got quite good numbers I think. Have you explored other things like EMMA/ALICE/ERA? X

stay strong!!! and ask you clinic for more tests! in total how many transfers have you had? 3? because sometimes there are some hidden underline conditions that have no symptoms. For instance check: NK cells, T1 & T2 imbalance, blood clots, ''unfriendly'' vaginal environment etc.. I've had to pay extra for all those and (unfortunately for me) some came out positive. This means doctor needs to change the protocol for my next transfer.

best of luck to you <3

Try to undergo ERA + hysteroscopy biopsy test. With this your exact receptivity timing and incase any other issue persists in your uterus can be found out and taken care of.

this was the same as my results on last egg retrieval (age 42) and I got 2 blasts and I am 21 weeks with the 2nd frozen transfer from that one. I didn’t PGTA as less than 3 embryos and I didn’t feel it was worth it for that and quicker to just transfer and I also wanted the option of a 3 day transfer fresh if things went that way (I’ve also read a lot about it damaging and discarding healthy embryos that put me off a bit) so I can’t tell you what those results would have been but just wanted to give you some hope with those numbers that quantity doesn’t always mean quality and you are defo still in with a chance. Fingers crosse d for you! 💜🤗
