My 1st ivf experiences I was so careful and googled far to much, ended up worrying that how I slept would effect implantation, things I ate, drink, and enjoying a bath at night time. This time I have to told to relax and stop worrying but I’m so scared. I love a Bath in the evening.. does anyone think this will effect eggs? Implantation? I’m going for egg retrieval on Monday 20th so far they think I have 15 eggs. Last time they got 20 but only one made it to blastocyst

Is it ok to Bath?
I was told no hot baths. No point if a tepid bath for me. Also egg collecting Monday. I will have my bath Monday night
I was always told baths are fine until you have your egg transfer and then to avoid them!
I was told no baths also (I finally chilled out on NYE and had treat myself to a nice hot bath at 6 months pregnant lol!) Good luck for egg collection, hope those follicles are full of good eggs for you 🥰
Don’t do it to yourself ... our motto is no regrets
If it doesn’t work you will worry the bath was too hot as they do advise not to have hot baths. I had a hot shower and a dominos on the day of FET and it didn’t work now I think was it my fault.... shower too hot and too much salt in the Dominos. It probably wasn’t but always on my mind xxx
Hi, my clinic always said baths are fine before egg collection but a big no no in your 2ww due to infection possibility. But if your unsure or worried it’ll be bad for you then just stay clear x
Hi lovely, I was told no baths during collection and implantation and to be honest I LOVE to lie in a hot bath with bubbles!! I’m now 11 weeks pregnant and I’ve still not bathed (sounds disgusting 🙈) I’m sticking to showers. Only because like I say I like it steaming hot and that isn’t good. But I was told baths are safe just not to hot. If it puts your mind at ease like me then stick to showers xx
Same as above, told no baths after collection and during tww. Otherwise fine as long as not too hot. I’m 8 weeks and still haven’t had a bath because I don’t know what ‘too hot’ means!!
I agree with MrsH17 especially. I have long time back pain so hot baths are what relax my back but since I was told no hot bath, no swimming anything that can cause infection after egg collection and during 2ww and of course during pregnancy, I even don't take hot shower cos like HPLondon said I also don't know what too hot is, so instead of risk it, I just use baby wipes to clean myself and for my backpain, I use the device that can act as acupoint and so far it works, so I stay also clear from massage chair, electric blanket, anything hot basically that can change my core temperature.
I like my baths to turn me bright red, so it's been no baths for me. Don't want to cook anything in there. I treat myself to a foot bath if I want a bit of a "bath" experience - this is feet in a bucket with bubble bath - not anything fancy. I do worry about having a hot water bottle at night and try to keep it away from my middle.
I was told fine to have baths whenever
Before egg retrieval is ok but definitely not afterwards. This is for infection risks.xx
I was told not to have a hot bath or put a hot water bottle directly on my tummy. It's not good for the embryos. Even after transfer I had quite a painful side and they wouldn't allow me to put a heat pad on my side where I had pain. I just had warm showers not always keeping my tummy under the water (with my back to the shower facing away from it). I was given this advice from 2 IVF clinics. I did end up with a little one I've just put to bed. Wishing you all the very best. xx
I avoided baths during my IVF cycle and didn’t get brave enough to have one til the second trimester when I got pregnant - then I bought a bath thermometer to reassure myself I wasn’t having it too hot. Meant I actually was able to find it relaxing and even though it wasn’t as hot as I would normally have it, still did wonders for my aches and pains.
Avoid hot baths once you’ve had the transfer. I can’t see why it would be a bad thing before though! Xx
