I'm currently just under 9 weeks pregnant. I've got a cold at the moment and a really dry cough. I'm paranoid every time I cough as I'm aware that my stomach is moving with each cough and convinced it will harm the baby. Has anyone had a cough in early pregnancy and it's worked out ok still? x

I had a ridiculously bad cough for about a month from like 7 weeks pregnant with my son, to the point my stomach muscles would hurt, i was coughing all the time and it was really dry, my asthma was really bad too and I ended up going to A&E with it! I was so worried and went for a few scans to check he was ok and each time he was perfectly fine in there and obviously oblivious to anything going on outside. He's now 6 months and absolutely fine so try not to worry xxxxxxx
Hi HJ. Your little one should be just fine tucked away out of harms way. I've been in fertility treatments etc for many years now, and yet to know of anyone coughing out their little one or even an embryo! Get some honey and lemon linctus, or simple linctus which should help. Also drink some hot honey and lemon. Hope it soon passes and you feel better. Diane
