I've come crashing down from my first ever bfp a week and a half ago. I had some strong cramps today and then this evening quite a lot of brown blood, enough to have to use a pantyliner. The only pregnancy symptoms I've had was tiredness and some brain fog a few days before my bfp. Nothing since and now this. I know it could still go either way but deep down i really feel it is over. I feel completely sick thinking about it. My scan isn't until 2 weeks time (I'd be 7.5 weeks). I really really thought this was our time. Please, anyone experienced the same?! Woth good or bad outcomes?! I need a reality check as much as hope xxx

Freaking out... Is this the start of a mc... 😥
Hey there, I can imagine it’s so worrying! No experience myself but I have read and heard it’s more common to bleed after an embryo transfer as the catheter can cause a bruise... Hoping for the best xxx
I bet you are freaking out. As if this isn't hard enough as it is! Have you called your clinic? I was worried earlier this year and called them, they were so understanding and gave me some options. I ended going for an earlier scan at 6 weeks. Peace of mind either way was crucial for me. I've read stories when it can go either way, so you're not out yet. 🤞🤞🤞 xx
don’t worry hang in there. This happened to me at 6 weeks even had some blown clots. Went to A&E had some blood test and scan and baby heartbeat was very strong. Good luck
Did you have a heartbeat at 6 weeks? My clinic said that it will most probably be too early for that. I've booked in for Monday anyway just in case. Bit worried though that it won't give me any answers. Cramps seem to have gone today (for now) and brown blood has eased to a little bit of spotting. Xxx
Hey, it happened to me at 6 and 7 weeks with flash red clots who lasted a couple of hours then turned to brown discharge for the following days, and it eventually resolved. Please don’t rely too much on symptoms it’s too early really. One thing I’d do is calling the clinic or EPU and ask for an early scan (usually you can see the sac around 5+4/ 6 weeks already)
Good luck huni, sending positive thoughts💜
Oh hun I’m sorry you are going through this & hope I can offer you some reassurance.
I had bleeding with both of my full term pregnancies. I bled heavily like a period at 7 weeks with my son & was told by medics to expect a miscarriage he’s now 21!!! With my daughter I had bleeding between 6-14 weeks it was mostly brown but I did have fresh blood with clots at 10 weeks. She’s now a healthy 5 month old baby!
My midwife wasn’t at all concerned by brown spotting as she said it was only old blood??? I was completely freaked out!
The advice I was given by various midwives ( and there were many 🤣) unless I had severe doubled over abdominal pain followed by heavy full flow bleeding like filling a pad every hour or less then not to worry ( of course I did worry every bit of bleeding I had!)
I had a chemical pregnancy between having my son & daughter the only reason I’m telling you this is the experience of this was completely different to my bleeding I had with my full term pregnancies. It started with labour like cramps & was bright red discharge with soon developed into full flow bleeding with huge blood clots like 2 inches this went on for about 3 days once it started it didn’t ease it got worse rapidly I knew I was losing the baby it started day after BFP...
Yours sounds like spotting which is much more common than you realise! Even so I would get yourself checked over just for peace of mind- at this point your options are getting your GP to check your cervix is closed, HCG blood tests to check levels are increasing nicely or have a scan from 6 weeks onwards at early pregnancy assessment unit- some units will require a GP referral ( mine does) others allow to self refer. Bearing in mind not all women will see a heartbeat at 6 weeks this is why many clinics offer a viability scan at 7 weeks as most heartbeats can be detected then.
Do rest up & I hope it all eases soon I know how worrying it is.xxx
Arrr I’m sorry to hear this, I’ve experienced the same before... if I was you I would contact your local EPU ASAP and get a early scan. Atleast you can put your mind at rest. Hopefully everything will be fine. Xx
Hey, I had a similar experience around 5 weeks, brown bleeding which turned to red then a really huge bleed with big blood clots the size of my palm at 10 weeks. I thought everything was over, didn't think there was any way a tiny little life could survive that.(I had a double embryo transfer of 2 blasts.) I had to wait 2 days for a scan after that and much to my surprise the little fighter was still there. It was a subchronic hemotoma that had caused all the bleeding. I still bled brown untill 17 weeks preg I am now 29 weeks. Hang in there, bleeding doesn't always mean the end. I know how scary the waiting can be, I wish you lots of luck. Xx
Hey I really hope its nothing to worry about but get in touch with your clinic. They should be able to check your blood level which will be hopefully be doubling. They say brown blood is old blood and it's usually the red blood you need to worry about but even then I know someone who is pregnant right now and has had period/bleeding throughout.
Wishing you all the best xx
I had a miscarriage but did not have the symptoms you mention. Why you don’t go to A&E or for a private scan to ease your worry? I could never wait for a scan for weeks!
Good thank you. I've been spotting brown blood about a week now with a splash of red but had a scan on Monday and we saw a heartbeat! Next scan a week tomorrow. The scan on Monday was incredibly reassuring so just need to stay positive. I hope all is well with you. Xxx
Hi there, i can totally undertand you being worried. Brown blood is a good sign, i bled at 6 weeks but all was ok, mine wasnt ivf, just old blood coming out. Wishing you all the best x
