Can ivf affect when you come on your period ? I have had the transfer but having period symptpms have eye pain which I always get before come on but not due for another 11 days ?

Absolutely. The drugs you are given during ivf are meant to mimic a natural cycle but if your body is absorbing progesterone properly then your period shouldn’t actually arrive until after OTD and you finish taking the drugs (assuming a BFN).

However many ladies find the side effects of the drugs often mimic PMT or pregnancy symptoms so you feel like AF is about to arrive when she isn’t, or you have pregnancy symptoms but then get a BFN. The drugs and their side effects and the way they mess with your mind are one of the many cruel things about this journey. I hope for you it is just a side effect and not a sign AF is on her way. Hmm unfortunately I think must be period I’m not due until end of next wk so I could come on early ? Xx

In theory, if your progesterone is being absorbed properly then you shouldn’t come on early even if you get a BFN. Hopefully that feeling is just the side effect of your meds.

AF means Aunt Flo, just a slang way of saying period
