Egg collection update - risk of ohss

Hi ladies,

Just want to say a huge Thank you to everyone that's been incredibly supportive and informative. Don't know what i'd do without this forum. So.... Egg collection was today. I was shaking with nerves ! lol literally. Everyone at the clinic was so kind, and the consultant and anaesthetist really tried calming me by telling me i wouldn't feel a thing. I don't remember a thing! I woke up from the best sleep and it was all done! I was told they retrieved 26 eggs!! I only had 13 follicles, don't know how that happened?? Anyway, doctor is concerned i might develop ohss so i'll be going in a few times this week for monitoring. More than likely i was told i will have a FET as doctor doesn't want to risk anything. Let's hope there's good quality of eggs there, coz i know it's all about the quality and not quantity.

A little sore right now, but nothing a hot water bottle and good rest won't fix! X

Congratulations on the egg collection that’s great news 😊

I had a risk of ohss when I had egg collection a few weeks ago (annoyingly have now developed late onset ohss 😫) so I can vouch for taking care of yourself and listening to the docs advice.

Best of luck for the next few days 💖 x

I feel like i'm developing ohss, the bloating is getting quite bad. Let's hope its short-lived. I hope your symptoms are manageable. Plenty of water xx

That’s brilliant, well done lovely! I was also high risk - drink loads of water & relax. I also drank lots of lucozade & protein shakes - not sure if they did anything but I didn’t get any significant ohss xx
