Can embryos implant on day of ET?

Hi everyone.

This is my first time posting here. Second time going through ICSI. First round was BFN.

I had my ET on Saturday at day 3 for my embryos. Obviously I don’t want to get my hopes up too high, but after talking to the embryologist this morning (my other two embryos haven’t made it to freezing) I told her I was having some mild cramping. She said that it could be my embryos (had 2 put back) getting comfy and that I might get a small implantation bleed. But that if I get a heavy bleed I should call them back.

After speaking to her I remembered I had a small brown bleed on the evening of ET. I just assumed it was bleeding after the procedure. But now wondering if that could have been an implantation bleed?

I just assumed that they don’t implant until a week after, but after chatting to the embryologist I guess they can implant earlier than that?

I know there’s no way to be sure until OTD. But as you all know the 2ww is torture. Your brain just goes mental.

Thanks!

Hi,

Sorry I don’t see how implantation is possible on day 3 or day 5.

On day 3 the embryo still needs to develop into a blastocyst and travel to an implantation site. A brown bleed is old blood, if it was on evening of ET, it’s likely something that was dislodged by the catheter or using the speculum during transfer.

Implantation starts around day 7, I had small drops of implantation blood on days 8 and 9.

It takes a week for implantation to fully complete.

This article explains the process

Hey Hun. 99% percent of research states implantation will have happened on or before day 5, and this is when the HcG trigger is released. Therefore sparking a positive result without being your trigger, saw it happen to the majority of early testers on here including myself at 5dp5dt I had a positive. The embryologist is a specialist in this field and would not give you dudd information I assume?! Good luck and fingers crossed for you! X x

Hello lovely, one thing lve learnt on this site is that there is no norm on this journey. Every story is unique and ANYTHING is possible. So a big fat yes, it could be implantation. Stay positive. Look forward to a happy post from you very soon.
