I have a question about how long you ladies were on Clexane for and if you know the rationale behind it?
I'm due to stop next Thur which will be 11 weeks. I've seen posts from others who take much longer or even almost whole pregnancy. My consultant seems pretty comfortable with me stopping and in all honesty the quicker I can come off all the meds the better but I just wondered what the rationale was behind those that need to take for longer than this.
Thanks

My NHS doctor said to stop it at 12 weeks but private doctor said to continue until week 36. When i said that to NHS doctor, he agreed and i keep injecting , i am 25 weeks now
Thanks do you know why they decided to keep you on it? I just feel as though they have given me as part of a standard protocol and then have asked me to stop at 11 weeks. I would rather understand why or be tested to determine if need to continue taking it.
I'm still waiting on my booking in appointment so dont have an NHS contact to ask yet.
Hi I'm on Clexane as I have the Prothrombin gene mutation. Think I have to take it until after the birth. With the rest of my meds (prog, oestrogen) I as told to take them until the end of the 12th week.
I have the C4M2 gene mutation (sticky blood) so if I ever become pregnant, I would need to be on it throughout the pregnancy and 6 weeks after giving birth. I have used clexane on 2 of my IVF cycles.
