So I spoke with our consultant in Madrid this morning. He said the donor that was used in our cancelled cycle yesterday was aged 18! Does that not seem a bit young!? Anyway she had proven fertility as she has donated previously and someone had a successful outcome. He can't give a reason why it hasn't worked but said that actually on day three there was higher than normal fragmentation, unlike what we were told by the embryologist who said everything looked normal. We have a different person who is our contact now regarding keeping us informed and updated as the language barrier with the embryologist had been a problem. We are going again and thankfully have not been charged for the failed cycle. They have already emailed to say a new donor has been found and her egg collection is the 8th August. How can it be so fast? Do the donor's not have to have weeks of medication?? Anyone any idea?
Anyway, fingers crossed we have success soon. I never thought I would be worried about getting to transfer with a donor but I suppose it's positive they only want to transfer back the highest quality embryos.
Thanks for listening and you're invaluable support xxx
