Just back from my Transfer, feeling very positive that we have made the right decision going for a double 3-day. Turns out the 6 cell from this morning is already a 7 cell so transferring it along with an 8 cell increases our chances by 5% (according to embryologist)
We had a great experienced team, seen the flash of light clearly on the screen. Everything went very smoothly.
The embryologist even agreed to grow our remaining 3 embryos to 5 days .... you never know !
Just had a cup of tea with salty McDonalds chips 🍟
Partner away out for pineapple & brazil nuts.
Think I read on here ‘pomegranate juice’ can help .... any idea how it helps ? Nurses said be wary as it’s an antioxidant and they can do more harm than good ?

Congratulations, now put your feet up and relax I’m keeping everything crossed for the two you have on board and the call in a few days time about the other three 🤞🏼 Xx
Congratulations on your transfer and good luck with the next two weeks!!
Regarding the pineapple I think it’s only if you eat ungodly amounts of it! If you’re having a bit of pineapple every day I think your grand. The risk is if you are eating say a few entire pineapples a day!
If you listen to the BFN podcast it’s one of the first couple of episodes they ask the medical director of a fertility clinic about it.
Woohoo!! Congratulations! And now we wait! 🤞🙏🤞🙏🤞🙏🤞
I’m drinking pomegranate juice and eating pineapple every morning. I read it helps blood flow to the uterus and helps beef up your lining. Also had my salty chips post transfer! First drivethru in YEARS! My dog had the chicken nuggets 😂Hope you’ve got your feet up and are feeling good!x
Absolutely delighted to be joining you now on the 2ww.....when is your OTD? Mine is 13/08/19. Absolutely not early testing .... at least that is the plan..... had enough torture getting to this stage already 😂
I lay down once I got home, listened to Zita West ‘post transfer relaxation’ and fell fast sleep. Feeling good now, plan to keep busy and not dwell on it as what will be will be 🍀
That’s great I bought a pomegranate too as actually really like them. We will do anything and try anything if we think it will help 🤞🏼
My OTD is the 6/8/19! Only 10days post 5day transfer! 7daus to go. I’m trying not to think about it every second of the day, but finding that hard ☺️Off to Aberdeen to see my friend and goddaughter and my dad for a day or two of distraction!! Had a few slight twinges in tum and lower back and hoping that was implantation happening, but really haven’t felt anything else or feel any different and know the twinges can be period pains or post transfer sensitivity. Eeeek.xx
10 days doesn’t seem too bad,my clinic are 15 days post 3day transfer 🙈
The day of the test am meant to be meeting a friend with her new baby. My partner thinks I should maybe test day before to give myself a chance to get head around whatever the result may be. Pretty sure a day will make no difference.
Sounds like it could be signs of implantation🤞🏼. I had a distinctive sharp pain when I had my first BFP but absolutely nothing with the second BFP.
Enjoy Aberdeen, weather is lovely just now, that is actually where my clinic is although I live an hour from there x
Mmm that’s a tough one. I’ve been lucky in that my friends that have had babies this year are my 2 closet friends so they’ve been brilliant and understanding and I’ve enjoyed meeting their babies (twins and and an ivf bubba!!) but the day of the test might not be the right time. Every part of me hopes it’s your BFP. Maybe just say to her we’ll play it by ear. I’m going to test day before or morning of same day as I don’t think I can handle waiting for the phone call! Arghhhh so exciting/scary/exciting/scary...
I’m from Aberdeen originally but live in Glasgow. Love a road trip with my dog, so looking forward to the drive x
Yep it would never bother me normally as happy for all friends with babies but she isn’t aware we are at this crucial stage. It’s just cause it’s test day that am hesitant but yes will play it by ear.
We don’t get blood test just have the urine test at home then 7 week scan. Oh my the anticipation is killing me already.
Well done! Iv just had a big fat positive confirmed at the clinic. I ate pineapple (especially the core) and drank pomegranate juice every day. I also ate foods high in protein such as eggs, avocados, olives, cashews and sunflower seeds. I tried Brazil nuts but I couldn’t stomach them. Best of luck xx
Omg huge congratulations on your BFP ...... thrilled for you 😀. Thanks for all the tips. Did you do any excersise apart from walking ? In past have cut out swimming & running as well I just feel I don’t want to do too much.... it is only 2 weeks after all x
Thank you 😊. I am just walking especially in this heat. I would like to swim but I need to look into what stage it’s safe to do that as I was told not to swim after the embryo transfer. I personally wouldn’t run as it seams quite impactful but I am not a runner so I could be biased on that one xx
I have decided best course of action is if am unsure don’t do it, after all it is only 2 weeks. Walking is more than enough excersise in this heat as you said. P.s how much pomegranate juice did you drink daily? Just wondering if small glass is ok
So pleased that you decided to go with day 3 and that they are safely back where they belong.
I only had 2 embryos fertilise and I lost one on day 3 because my clinic refuse to freeze anything before day 5, I was terrified that my last one wouldn’t make it (it did).
Just to say don’t worry too much about the nuts and pineapple etc. I did all of those things on previous transfers but I didn’t bother on my last transfer (only ate the fries, drank plenty of water, took vitamin D and folic acid) and I’m now almost 38 weeks pregnant. If it makes you feel proactive then go ahead, just don’t obsess. Good luck xx
Ooh exciting, lots of luck to you ☘️ This sounds like my last transfer and I just think if not trying to chose between them then get them back in where they belong!
I’ve done the pineapple, Brazil nuts and pomegranate juice each time (3 cycles) and had both a bfp and bfn so along with the experience of others I’m not convinced any of it actually makes much difference!
Am with you there this is my 5 th transfer..... had 2 BFPs. Had pineapple, Brazil nuts everytime so it’s not fool proof. This is my first time drinking pomegranate juice though... so hopefully that may swing it 😘
My only bfp was a true miracle as they said it had less than a 5% chance of working (sadly ended in mmc) but I swear it was a little break away in the sun (during our gorgeous summer last year) that did it! xx
So sorry there is nothing worse, I also had a mmc from my BFP last year. They say it was nothing to do with the embryo but the gestational sac didn’t grow big enough for baby to survive. Heartbreaking but somehow we carry on.....
Try not to get too hung up on the pineapple etc. I did none of that. Just ate healthily and did some moderate exercise. Obviously if it helps comfort you, crack on. Just try and stay positive and don't test early 😉🍀
Hi thank you, I normally swim and go running however going to stick to walking only and look up suitable yoga/Pilates on you tube.
Defo not early testing, cannot torture myself anymore that have already x
Good luck! I drank pomegranate juice when I got my bfp and ate four Brazil nuts a day too. This round forgot my pomegranate and was bfn... maybe just maybe there is something in it! x
Great my problem is I can never stop at 4 as actually love Brazil nuts.
So sorry about your BFN.... there is no worse news really. If it’s any consolation I have had 2 x BFPs where I had no pomegranate juice only pineapple/Brazil nuts. Sometimes I just feel if it is meant to be it will be and am sure that time will come soon for us both 😘🤞🏼🍀🙏🏻
Wonderful! Crossing my fingers (and toes!) tightly for you. Hopefully these two (or at least one of them) make it. But also rooting for those continuing to day 5. Getting a few Frosties would be good for peace of mind, wouldn’t it? Xx
Now my clinic have just started using embryo glue with every transfer well hoping this also helps 🤞🏼.
I know I was so upset when she said they were all slow, not grown since yesterday showing some signs of fragmentation. They would normally discard today but I practically begged them to grow until Wednesday. The embryologist is pretty sure they won’t make it though I would love to prove her wrong 😘
I read on here a lot of women who have had success swear by going for McDonalds chips straight after transfer. Well any excuse for a McDonalds trip right 😂
OTD is ‘Official Test Date’ - this is the date the clinic give you but many test early. I have tested a day or 2 early in past but determined to see it out until 13/08 this time x
Oh my goodness that is not good surely they should be keeping you updated. You would be well within your rights to call them tomorrow for an update .....
That’s not good about your endo, how did you know it had spread ?
I had a diagnostic lap when I first had infertility issues, was diagnosed with suspected tubal blockage both tubes PLUS ,mild endo which they lasered and tell me that’s the end of it. I never had or have any symptoms. My research is it can come back to other organs but everytime I approach this subject with my DR or GP they brush it off saying it was mild and was lasered so nothing to worry about
I intend to look into further as soon as am done with IVF .... think I need to see a specialist x
It's nhs ..they said they'll call me on day 3( Monday) if I needed to go for a transfer and that if I don't heard from them I should assume the transfer is on Wednesday. Bit mean as a phone call is not something extravagant..leaving in fear they'll call tomorrow to say none survived...
Anyway I only knew about the extent of my endometriosis once I paid for a private scan with one of the best scanner in Harley street
He found so many things compared to a scan I had on the nhs 6 months beforehand...night and day!
Endo is not only about adhesions and cysts. It creates an inflammatory and inhospitable place for sperm and the embryo
Hence why I'm on an anti inflammatory diet ( my ca125 levels have lowered since I started the diet)
Gluten, soy, dairy, pills, alcohol , transfat, ready meals ( just to name a few) and stress are all v.inflammatory
In the first week I always think “Easy, I can do this” then turn into an absolute psycho in the second week 😂 Do you have anything planed to help pass the time? X
Hi Core, thanks so much ....they weren’t keen as seen sure not viable but I insisted. Will do no harm anyway. I hope so too especially as my clinic just started doing embryo glue with every transfer 🤞🏼
I’ve got everything crossed for you too! I had a BFP from a double transfer at day 3 as well... Got a good feeling about this one!! I’ve heard figs are also helpful xx
Hi, thanks so much, great to hear you got a BFP with a double 3 day transfer. I have had 2 x BFN’s both from 5 day frozen ‘single transfers’ but 2 x BFP’s from 2 x fresh 3 day transfers.
So if history repeats itself then I would be absolutely delighted. Am luckier than some as one of my BFPs is now my 3 year old miracle son. Just one more miracle please 🙏🏻
Thanks so much. Aged 43 and feeling this could be our last attempt at completing our family. We have had such a run of bad luck and just feel some good luck is on it’s way.
I was gutted to read your bad news, will you be trying again soon or is that a silly question? I know in this game we don’t give up easily x
It’s just the core your supposed to eat as it contained bromelain I think it works like aspirin and is and anti inflammatory for 5 days. Pomegranate juice I used to drink it it’s really nice but expensive to build up uterine lining and I used to eat beetroot aswel as black kale. Just with natural cycles haven’t had ivf. I did conceive but have eaten and drank since but nothing so far.
