We had resulted in 3 embryos on day 5 ( today ) and transfer one in the morning
When we had the chat with the embryologist in the morning she wasn't sure it will go to freeze the 2 of them left because of the quality, turn out in this afternoon that both of them are doing good and she decided to freeze them.
Now I am a little confused because I didn't ask what is happening of I have more than 1 embryo in the freezer? I am in wales ( if any of you ladies had the same situation as mine)
I am not sure if this the cycle is one fresh and one frozen or one fresh and any remaining frozen?
What is happening with the second frozen? Will go in the same cycle? Xxx

It’s another postcode lottery! Google whichever CCG you fall under + fertility policy and it should say.
Mine specifies 3 “opportunities” which they class as transfers. I had a freeze all cycle so in my case it will be 3 frozen transfers. But I know some CCGs (although I imagine it’s rare!) consider a cycle a stimulated cycle and all transfers that result from that x
Where I live one cycle includes all frozen transfers (as many blasts as you get) from that cycle. Basically we get three cycles that involve stimulation and egg collection as that’s the most expensive part. I well aware we’re very lucky! So it depends where you are. X
Hi, I'm the same as Bridget_rose - my CCG defines 3 cycles as fully funded to include egg collection & the transfer of anything viable from each cycle so this could mean multiple transfers per cycle until all viable options are used; I also appreciate I am extremely lucky.
As Solly said, every CCG defines different things when they say "A cycle". Your CCG NHS website should break down what they mean by 1 cycle. Like Solly said just google your CCG plus ivf criteria, it should come up.
If I were you I'd just contact the clinic & say you have some questions about your current cycle and frozen embies 😁
Wishing you lots of luck with your current transfer 🧡
I'm in north wales, having treatment over the border in Shrewsbury but my CCG is still a welsh one, I was entitled to 2 full cycles and each cycle was classed as a fresh transfer and any frozen transfers as well until all available blasts had been used up x
Yea it does take the pressure off a little, I fell pregnant from my fresh transfer but sadly I lost the pregnancy at 6 weeks and I'm now 10 weeks from my 1st frozen transfer, so I really hope you get the opportunity to have frozen transfers if you need them x
I am currently on my second cycle of IVF in Cardiff on the NHS. I had a fresh transfer that unfortunately failed and have 3 frozen embryos left. I have been told by them that each cycle consists of a fresh transfer and any frozen embryos. Wishing you lots of luck x x
Hi Hanbee just wanted to say hi I also am being seeing in Cardiff. At the wales fertility institute, is this the same clinic for you? If so how do u find them?? Sorry for the questions I just been having some issues with them
Hi Ayooshi that’s the same clinic as me. Sorry to hear you have been having some issues. I haven’t had any problems with them except sometimes a bit difficult to get hold of but they do usually ring back then later.
Hi, I think as far as I can remember, if we had an frozen embies and no previous successful pregnancies from the 2 nhs funded ones, we were given another cycle for free because of the frozen ones. So I am just hoping I get some to freeze this time. Incase it results in a miscarriage again. I’m in Wales
I did have one cycle so far (I am on my second now ) on my first I had 2 embryos on day 5 ( one fresh and had one fet )
On this cycle, I have 3 embryos on day 5 one fresh transfer and 2 in the storage
I'm in Neath Talbot clinic
I didn't have the chance to ask about the second frozen that we have now but I am sure both of them will be on this cycle...now I am on the 2ww waiting 🙈
